Target is seeking a Senior Art Director for the Brand Design Lab. You will lead concept development, art direction and photography, partnering with cross‑functional teams to drive brand storytelling across packaging and omnichannel campaigns.
Based in Minnesota with a Hybrid/Flex schedule, you will help create cohesive, high‑quality work that aligns with Target’s brand systems and retail trends. A strong portfolio and 5+ years of experience are essential.
The pay range is $73,000.00 - $132,000.00

You will be part of the Retail Creative team, which sets the foundation of Target’s brand expression. In this role, you will work collaboratively with internal and external creative teams, as well as various internal business partners. You will also partner closely with creative leads and cross-functional teams to evolve and strengthen the work, contributing to a highly collaborative and fast-paced creative environment.
You will contribute to and help shape the creative direction for owned brands and packaging, bringing our brands to life through concept development, art direction, photography and content creation. You will develop and execute innovative concepts for new brands, categories, designer partnerships and other key initiatives, infusing the work with an unmistakable Target approach and seamlessly integrating a multicultural lens. While brand and packaging photography will be a primary focus, you will also collaborate across the studio to support larger omnichannel creative efforts, including store experience marketing, digital and social content. You will work closely with design and creative partners to deliver cohesive, high-quality work that meets business and marketing objectives. You take ownership of your work, incorporate feedback, meet project deadlines and present ideas clearly and confidently.
You will need to demonstrate an exceptional taste level and highly developed skills in concept development, art direction, photography and visual storytelling, with a strong understanding of style and brand systems. Critical to this role is staying current with retail trends and experiences, photography, culture and emerging creative technologies, developing a strong working knowledge of categories and guest behaviors, and being a passionate advocate for great creative. You’ll also collaborate with peers across Target’s global creative teams as needed, working across time zones to share work, exchange ideas, and support creative. This position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Target’s needs. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member’s core role will need to be performed both onsite at the Target HQ MN location the role is assigned to and virtually, depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day. Work duties cannot be performed outside of the country of the primary work location, unless otherwise prescribed by Target.
