Role Overview

As a Senior Area General Manager in Oncology, you will be responsible for delivering top-line targets by leading and managing a dynamic cross-functional customer-facing team within your business unit. You will oversee personnel and flexible spend, making strategic trade-offs to maximize impact. Your deep understanding of healthcare practitioners and systems within Oncology across multiple products and tumor types will drive customer and patient-centric outcomes, ensuring performance goals are met. Extensive collaboration with HQ and stakeholders is essential.

This role covers the South Texas territory, with travel up to 50%. Candidates must reside within or near the territory.

Key Responsibilities
  • Achieve revenue goals through strategic initiatives to grow market share.
  • Develop and lead a high-performing team, including sales reps and key account managers.
  • Assess and adjust team size based on market needs.
  • Embodies leadership qualities—visionary, coach, and catalyst—fostering a shared accountability culture.
  • Coach and develop team members.
  • Understand market dynamics, business models, and financial drivers.
  • Define regional strategy in collaboration with HQ and cross-functional teams; manage a portfolio of Oncology brands.
  • Build long-term relationships with influential customers to foster brand adoption.
  • Lead national initiatives and ensure effective field deployment.
  • Coordinate support resources across areas.
Candidate Profile

Bayer seeks candidates with:

  • Bachelor’s degree minimum.
  • Strong coaching and mentoring skills.
  • Business and financial acumen with experience in strategic planning.
  • Understanding of health systems and market dynamics in Oncology.
  • Willingness to travel weekly.
  • Leadership experience in matrixed organizations and managing multiple levels.
  • Experience leading national workstreams and operational roles.
  • Valid Driver’s License and clean record.

  • Oncology expertise.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary ranges from $226,359 to $339,539, plus potential bonuses, benefits including health, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, and sick leave. Compensation varies based on location, experience, and other factors.
