Job summary

Moody’s Corporate Systems team seeks an senior software architect to lead enterprise application architecture for scalable, secure systems on AWS/Azure, and to design API-driven microservices. You will craft architecture diagrams, technical workflows, and governance across teams, while aligning technical solutions with business goals.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in software development and architecture.
• Experience creating architecture diagrams, workflows, and documentation using Visio, Lucidchart, or equivalent.
• Deep knowledge of AWS and Azure; experience with cloud-native and hybrid architectures.
• Proficiency in designing RESTful APIs and microservices-based architectures.
• Experience with relational and non-relational databases; familiarity with middleware like MuleSoft and SAP CPI/BTP is a plus.
• Secure coding practices, identity management, encryption, and compliance knowledge.
• Familiarity with containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines.
• UML and ER diagrams modeling; strong communication and stakeholder skills.
• Basic understanding of AI concepts and interest in responsible AI.

• Define and maintain the overall software architecture for enterprise applications, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
• Create detailed architecture diagrams, technical workflows, and documentation for projects.

Skills And Competencies

• 8+ years in software development and architecture, with a proven track record of designing complex systems.
• Strong expertise in creating architecture diagrams, workflows, and technical documentation using tools such as Microsoft Visio, PowerPoint, Lucidchart, or equivalent.
• Deep knowledge of AWS and Azure; experience with designing cloud-native and hybrid architectures.
• Foundational understanding of system design principles and best practices.
• Proficiency in designing RESTful APIs and microservices-based architectures.
• Experience with relational, non-relational databases. Familiarity middleware platforms like MuleSoft and SAP CPI/BTP is a plus.
• Sound understanding of secure coding practices, identity management, encryption, and compliance standards.

• Skilled in UML, ER diagrams, and modelling tools for system design.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

• Interest in exploring AI systems and a willingness to develop awareness of responsible AI practices, including risk management and ethical use.

Education

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

The Corporate Systems team, part of the Technology Services Group, supports Moody’s core business and technology operations by enabling reliable day to day execution, strong coordination, and effective governance across corporate platforms and shared services. The team partners closely with senior leaders, product teams, and key stakeholders across the enterprise to drive operational excellence while also advancing innovation, including the adoption and enablement of AI driven capabilities. For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $116,500.00 - $172,400.00, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation. Moody’s also offers a competitive benefits package, including not but limited to medical, dental, vision, parental leave, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with employee and company contribution opportunities, life, disability, and accident insurance, a discounted employee stock purchase plan, and tuition reimbursement.
