Job summary

Larson Design Group, Inc. seeks a Senior Architect to lead design teams, partner with clients and developers, and ensure project deliverables meet design intent, schedules, and quality standards.

This senior role requires 12+ years of experience, an NAAB-accredited architecture degree, and an RA with NCARB certification. Strong leadership, BIM expertise, and excellent communication are essential in a collaborative, ESOP‑driven environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master of Architecture from NAAB-accredited program.
• At least 12 years of related architecture experience.
• Registered Architect (RA) with NCARB certification required.
• Strong leadership, communication and mentoring skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead architectural design and planning of projects with advanced design expertise.
• Review team work for accuracy, consistency, and brand alignment.
• Oversee detailed construction documents focusing on constructability.
• Apply building codes, zoning, accessibility, and local standards to resolve design challenges.
• Collaborate with internal disciplines, developers, and contractors throughout all phases.
• Conduct QA/QC reviews to ensure quality and schedule adherence.
• Support proposals, scope definition, budgeting, and labor-hour estimates.
• Partner directly with clients, retailers, and developers to define, communicate, and refine project scope, translating brand vision and operational needs into successful design solutions.
• Mentor and guide architectural staff, fostering professional growth, technical excellence, and continuous improvement within the team.

Your Opportunity + Impact

The Senior Architect leads teams, partners closely with clients and developers, and ensures project deliverables meet design intent, operational needs, schedules, and quality standards. This position plays a key role in transforming client vision into functional, high‑performing spaces that support business success.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the planning and architectural design of projects, demonstrating advanced design expertise and the ability to manage technically complex and schedule‑driven work.
• Review and refine work produced by project team members to ensure accuracy, consistency, and alignment with brand standards, prototype requirements, and project objectives.
• Prepare and oversee the development of detailed construction documents with a strong focus on constructability, coordination, and efficient delivery.
• Apply expert knowledge of building codes, zoning regulations, accessibility requirements, and local jurisdictional standards to resolve design challenges and ensure compliance.
• Collaborate closely with internal disciplines, consultants, developers, and contractors to promote effective communication and coordination throughout all phases of project delivery.
• Conduct final Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) reviews to ensure deliverables meet quality standards, client requirements, and schedule expectations prior to release.
• Support project managers and leadership in proposal development, scope definition, budgeting, and labor‑hour estimating, providing technical insight aligned with commercial project delivery models.
• Partner directly with clients, retailers, and developers to define, communicate, and refine project scope, translating brand vision and operational needs into successful design solutions.
• Mentor and guide architectural staff, fostering professional growth, technical excellence, and continuous improvement within the team.

Education and Experience

• Education: Bachelor of Architecture (5‑year program) or Master of Architecture (6‑year program) from a NAAB‑accredited institution is required.
• Experience: Minimum of twelve (12) years of job‑related experience.
• Licensure/Certification: Registered Architect (RA) with NCARB certification required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong leadership skills that promote collaboration and project success.
• Advanced understanding in Revit, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Sketch‑Up, Photoshop, and other related software programs.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook).
• Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet project deadlines effectively.
• Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a project team.
• Strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to interact professionally with clients, vendors, and other external sources.
