Job summary

Ring in Sunnyvale, CA, is seeking an Applied Scientist to advance computer vision and multi-modal ML for Ring devices, collaborating with teams to push state-of-the-art algorithms to scale.

You will design data-driven models, work with cross-functional teams, and influence product choices to deliver highly optimized computer vision solutions for millions of customers.

This position requires experience with developing Computer Vision, Multi-modal LLMs and/or Vision Language Models.

You will collaborate with different Amazon teams to make informed decisions on the best practices in machine learning to build highly-optimized integrated hardware and software platforms.

Key job responsibilities
  • Participate in the design, development, evaluation, deployment and updating of data-driven models for computer vision applications.
  • Research and implement the state-of-the-art computer vision and Vision Language models algorithms.
  • Collaborate with product managers and engineering teams to design and implement computer vision and machine learning based features for Ring devices.
  • Influence system design and product vision by making informed decisions on the selection of technology, data sources, algorithms, and sensors.
Basic Qualifications
  • 4+ years of building machine learning models for business application experience
  • PhD, or Master's degree and 6+ years of applied research experience
  • Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language
  • Experience with neural deep learning methods and machine learning
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience creating novel algorithms and advancing the state of the art
  • Experience in written and verbal communication skills to communicate with technical and non-technical audiences, including senior leadership
  • Experience shaping business strategy for technical products or services for large enterprises or partners
  • Experienced in prototyping, designing, optimizing, implementing and deploying computer vision applications and tools

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
