Project Kuiper aims to expand global broadband access via a constellation of 3,236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). Its goal is to provide fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities worldwide, helping bridge the digital divide for consumers, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations lacking reliable connectivity.

Position Overview: As an Antenna Engineer, you will collaborate with an experienced cross-disciplinary team to develop and test Payload phased array antennas and customer terminals using advanced testing systems like Spherical Near-Field (SNF), Planar NF, and robotic CATR antenna test systems. You will also contribute to building our Antenna Metrology lab, designing new test systems to accelerate antenna beam pattern testing, dynamic beam pointing, and link verification, aiming to create the fastest Ka-band antenna test system globally.

About the Team: The Kuiper Antenna Test Infrastructure team provides essential test systems and techniques to verify satellite hardware, integrating automation and connecting responsible engineers with their test metrics. The team is highly multidisciplinary, involving SysDE, SDE, ME, Metrology, Antenna, FPGA, and Lab Ops specialists working collaboratively.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Master's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent
• Experience in developing functional specifications, design verification plans, and test procedures
• 5+ years of professional experience in EM modeling using 2.5D and 3D EM tools
• 5+ years in RF design and modeling with linear and non-linear simulation tools
• 5+ years of experience with MATLAB
• Experience with design, implementation, and verification of launched antenna products
• Lab experience and familiarity with RF test equipment
• Experience with Automation of Test Equipment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience working with interdisciplinary teams from concept to production
• Project management experience for technical projects
• 5+ years in antenna design related to 5G/6G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth
• Design experience of complex mechanical products at volume
• MSc or PhD in EE with RF or antenna research
• Strong understanding of antennas: impedance matching, limitations
• Experience with array design, calibration, and testing
• Excellent mathematical skills
• 3+ years experience with Near Field testing and NF2FF transforms
• 2+ years programming Automated Test Equipment
• Experience testing digitally modulated signals
• Design experience of RF components like filters, hybrids, active circuits
