The Sr. Analytics Specialist is a key member of Avenue Z’s performance marketing and analytics team. This role ensures proper implementation and reporting of digital analytics for client engagements.

The ideal candidate has deep expertise in Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager, understands best practices for tagging and measurement, and works well with both marketing and development teams. They are proactive, collaborative, and able to solve problems with minimal oversight.

This role also contributes to internal AI automation efforts to improve reporting, lead scoring, and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

Analytics Auditing & Implementation:

  • Conduct audits to identify tracking, configuration, and data accuracy issues.
  • Translate findings into clear, prioritized action plans.
  • Implement tagging fixes and enhancements using Google Tag Manager.
  • Configure and maintain Google Analytics 4 properties, including event tracking, conversion goals, and custom dimensions.
  • Develop and manage custom tagging strategies aligned with client objectives.
  • Install, test, and maintain media pixels (including but not limited to: Meta, TikTok, LinkedIn, Google Ads) through GTM.
  • Maintain a consistent tagging taxonomy and ensure adherence to naming conventions.

Cross-Team Troubleshooting:

  • Work with developers to resolve dataLayer and other technical tracking issues.
  • Diagnose and fix tracking failures and data discrepancies.
  • Provide QA support for site and app releases that impact analytics.

Reporting & Insights:

  • Build and maintain dashboards in Looker Studio using Supermetrics connectors, native connectors for Google products, and manual data uploads for sources that don’t have pre-built connections (e.g. Muckrack).
  • Ensure accuracy and relevance of automated reports.
  • Provide actionable insights based on analytics findings.
  • Respond to ad-hoc analysis requests from internal teams.
Qualifications

Required:

  • 3–5 years of hands-on experience with Google Analytics (GA4) and Google Tag Manager.
  • Proven track record of analytics audits and solving tracking challenges.
  • Strong understanding of tagging best practices and dataLayer architecture.
  • Experience building dashboards in Looker Studio with Supermetrics.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and explain technical concepts clearly.
  • Experience working with clients, including understanding their Analytics needs, presenting actionable solutions, and managing expectations.

Preferred:

  • Experience with Adobe Analytics.
  • Experience contributing to AI-driven tools or workflow automation is a plus.

  • Job Type: Full-time Employee
  • Schedule: Monday - Friday, 9 AM - 6 PM EST
  • Employees within an hour of our offices must work in-office three days a week.
