Apple is looking for an Sr Analytics Engineer to support Retail Data Products in Austin, Texas. In this role, you will help build and refine scalable dashboarding and AI-driven conversational data tools that support Apple Retail Operations, with the goal of helping non-technical teams make better, data-informed decisions while improving customer experience and operational efficiency.

What you’ll work on

• Enhance and extend a dashboarding and conversational BI stack that enables data-based decision-making for non-technical users across retail stores.
• Develop high-impact dashboards and the supporting semantic layer that support multi-year improvements to customer experience programs, site selection, staffing and scheduling, and operational efficiency.
• Partner with product management, data science, data engineering, and data infrastructure teams to deliver tools that integrate smoothly into existing user workflows.

Core qualifications

• 6+ years experience building analytics pipelines in a production development environment for modeling, analysis, and reporting.
• 6+ years experience coding in SQL or PySpark and Python.
• 6+ years experience building and maintaining dashboards in Tableau, PowerBI, or Looker with hundreds of users.
• Ability to initiate, refine, and complete projects with minimal guidance.
• Ability to think critically and collaborate across functions, distilling abstract requirements into clear data products with data engineering, data science, and analytics stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Engineering, Data Science, Business) or equivalent experience.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience building analytics pipelines in production, ideally with Snowflake SQL or PySpark, plus pipeline tools such as Airflow and dbt.
• 3+ years managing semantic layers in tools like Cube, dbt, Snowflake, or LookML.
• 3+ years developing reusable data visualization assets like Tableau viz extensions.
• 3+ years working with retail data.
• Master’s degree in a relevant field (Engineering, Data Science, Business) or equivalent experience.

Pay and benefits

The base pay range for this role is USD 120,900 to USD 249,000 per year. Apple employees may be eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, including participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs and the Employee Stock Purchase Plan (stock purchase at a discount if voluntarily participating).
