Job description

Glovis America - 18191 Von Karman Ave, 18191 Von Karman Ave, Irvine, California, United States of America

Job Description

GLOVIS America, Inc. is a third-party logistics provider headquartered in Irvine, CA. Since our inception in 2002, we are committed to delivering our customer's products via truck, rail, or ocean vessel throughout the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. Glovis America makes every effort to exceed standards by providing quality service to our customers and vendors of the automotive, freight forwarding, parts distribution, used car, and fuel industries. We cater logistics strategies and processes to our customers' needs by utilizing the latest information systems and advanced technologies.

Summary The Senior Analyst supports key functions of the Vehicle Logistics department, with a primary focus on trucking operations and vehicle flow through rail facilities nationwide. This position is responsible for monitoring and coordinating vehicles transported to and from rail ramps, ensuring units are delivered in a timely, efficient, and damage-free manner while meeting established operational and customer service requirements. The Senior Analyst will work closely with railroads, trucking carriers, internal departments, and Hyundai, Genesis, and Kia stakeholders to manage vehicle flow, identify capacity constraints, resolve operational issues, and improve overall rail ramp performance. The position will also oversee the timely and accurate transmission of vendor EDI data, monitor vehicle delivery records, assist with claims and transportation-related issues, and analyze operational trends to identify opportunities for process and performance improvement. Given the operational importance of the rail network, the Senior Analyst is expected to independently identify risks, elevate critical issues, recommend corrective actions, and support management with data-driven analysis and reporting.

Compensation

$58,000 - $64,000 yearly salary range. (Subject to Compensation Study Upon Candidate Selection)

Responsibilities

Rail Ramp & Trucking Operations
  • Manage and monitor daily vehicle operations at assigned rail facilities, with a strong emphasis on maintaining established dwell-time targets and ensuring vehicles are shipped within two business days of railcar unloading whenever operationally feasible.
  • Monitor inbound railcar pipelines and projected vehicle volumes to ensure trucking vendors maintain sufficient capacity to manage anticipated rail ramp inventory.
  • Proactively identify potential capacity shortages, congestion, or service disruptions and coordinate corrective actions with management, railroads, trucking vendors, ports, and other transportation partners.
  • Support decisions to temporarily adjust rail shipments, utilize alternative transportation options, or redirect volume to truck-direct service when rail ramp capacity constraints require intervention.
  • Review daily inventory, shipment activity, dwell, and carrier performance to identify vehicles or locations requiring immediate operational attention.
  • Request and analyze shipment reports and vehicle ETAs from trucking vendors and provide timely updates to customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Provide trucking vendors with operational information necessary to effectively plan capacity and execute shipments, including rail pipeline reports, on-ground inventory, allocation forecasts, dealer STI information, and weekend delivery requirements.
  • Coordinate backup carrier support when primary transportation providers are unable to meet required capacity or service expectations.
  • Track vehicle Delivery Record Status from rail ramps to ensure physical deliveries and corresponding electronic records are completed accurately and timely.
  • Serve as a primary operational liaison between trucking vendors, railroads, dealers, customers, Sales Regions, and internal GLOVIS departments regarding rail ramp transportation activities.
  • Communicate dealer and customer-requested vehicle holds and ensure all involved parties remain informed of changes, releases, and other relevant updates.
  • Coordinate communication and operational response related to Force Majeure events, weather disruptions, rail interruptions, carrier capacity constraints, and other events that may impact vehicle delivery.
  • Work closely with Hyundai, Genesis, and Kia Sales Regions and transportation partners to resolve delivery concerns and support overall customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor trucking vendor performance and escalating recurring service, capacity, dwell, or compliance issues to management.
  • Develop strong working relationships with transportation partners while maintaining accountability for GLOVIS service and performance expectations.
