Job summary

American Airlines is seeking a data analytics professional to develop reports, dashboards and models that support enterprise-level data-driven initiatives within Technical Operations. You will gather requirements, integrate data from multiple sources, and build visualizations that reveal performance trends and opportunities.

The role requires a BS in a technical field and at least 3 years of experience, with strong analytical skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Data Science, Operations Research, Computer Science or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Collect and manage data from disparate sources into a comprehensive view of a business problem.
  • Performs requirement gathering.
  • Develops and maintains reports, dashboards, and visualizations.
  • Develops and maintains advanced analytical models and processes.
  • Interfaces with IT to institutionalize new tools.
  • Assists with Ad-Hoc analysis as needed.
  • Trains others on new tools as needed.

  • The role is a part of the Technical Operations Support team within our Technical Operations group.
What you'll do

All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Bachelor’s of Science degree in Engineering, Data Science, Operations Research, Computer Science, or equivalent training/experience
  • 3+ years of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Advanced knowledge of analytics tools, i.e. PowerBI, Tableau, etc.
  • Advanced knowledge of programming languages, i.e, SQL, Python, R, HTML, JavaScript.

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

  • Demonstrates aptitude for logical analysis, problem identification, and problem solving as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects at same time.
  • Ability to effectively interact with employees at all levels within the organization.
