Job summary

Grubhub Holdings Inc. is seeking a Sr Analyst – Merchant Network Strategy & Analytics to analyze complex data sets, build a connected ecosystem of dashboards, and deliver actionable insights across the business. The role involves developing financial models, monitoring KPIs, and driving automation to scale reporting while mentoring junior analysts in a hybrid office model.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience in a Data, BI or Analytics role with a track record of leading advanced data analyses.
  • Experience developing dashboards and reporting tools that drive business decision‑making.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze complex data sets to understand drivers of performance, including fraud prevention, customer care and logistics.
  • Build and maintain a connected dashboard ecosystem across Tableau and Redash.
  • Present findings and recommendations to leadership in clear, actionable formats.
  • Monitor and report on KPIs; investigate variances and trends for leadership.
  • Develop financial models to support strategic initiatives across departments.
  • Maintain a central Source of Truth for company metrics and reporting methodologies.
  • Identify opportunities to automate recurring reporting tasks and scale dashboards.
  • Mentor junior analysts and drive continuous improvement.
  • Stay informed on market trends to refine analyses.

About the Opportunity

As a Sr Analyst – Merchant Network Strategy & Analytics you will be responsible for analyzing complex data sets, identifying trends, and providing actionable insights that directly impact strategic decision‑making and drive business growth. You will also be the architect of a connected ecosystem of dashboards and reports that empower teams across the business to move faster, smarter, and more confidently. This involves executing advanced analyses, improving reporting processes, and collaborating closely with senior leadership to address critical business challenges.

  • Analyze complex data sets: Perform sophisticated analytics to understand critical drivers of business performance, including fraud prevention, customer care and logistics operations.

  • Build and maintain a dashboard ecosystem: Develop and manage a connected ecosystem of dashboards and reports across platforms such as Tableau and Redash.
  • Support cross‑functional business leaders: Collaborate with leaders to address business challenges, providing insightful analysis to help them understand the financial implications of their strategies and decisions.
  • Present findings and recommendations in clear, actionable formats, working with stakeholders to ensure data‑driven solutions are incorporated into business strategies.
  • Influence key decisions with high‑quality analysis and insights.
  • Transform business requirements into actionable insights: Translate requirements into intuitive, data‑driven dashboards and reporting solutions that drive strategic and operational decisions.
  • Monitor and report on KPIs: Take ownership of preparing, tracking, monitoring and communicating key performance indicators on a regular cadence; investigate variances and anomalies, identify trends, and communicate findings to leadership to inform strategic decision‑making.
  • Develop and maintain financial models: Design and implement financial models to support key strategic initiatives across various departments.
  • Maintain a central source of truth: Establish, document and maintain a “Source of Truth” for company‑wide metrics, driving consistency in metric definitions, data sources and reporting methodologies.
  • Drive reporting automation and scalability: Identify opportunities to automate recurring reporting tasks and streamline dashboard creation, building scalable reporting frameworks and reusable templates to support future business growth.
  • Mentorship and collaboration: Act as a mentor for junior analysts, helping them refine their skills and grow within the role.
  • Continuous improvement: Look for opportunities to improve data processes, enhance reporting efficiency, and increase the overall impact of analytical outputs.
  • Stay ahead of market trends: Stay informed about industry developments, competitor activities and emerging technologies, using this knowledge to refine analyses and make proactive recommendations that keep the company competitive and innovative.
Qualifications

Experience:

  • 3‑5 years of experience in a Data, Business Intelligence or Analytics role, with a proven track record of leading advanced data analyses and providing actionable insights that inform strategic business decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop impactful dashboards and reporting tools that drive business decision‑making.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Analytics, Computer Science or a related field.
  • Advanced degree or certifications in data science, business analytics or related areas is a plus.

Technical Skills

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, SQL and data visualization platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Familiarity with data modeling, cleaning and transformation best practices.
  • Exposure to Python for data analysis, modeling, automation, analysis and data pipeline optimization is preferred.
  • Understanding of statistical concepts and techniques, including regression analysis, hypothesis testing and forecasting.
  • Comfortable balancing speed and accuracy while developing scalable reporting solutions.
  • Experience with data cleaning, transformation and analysis processes.

Analytical Expertise

  • Expertise in interpreting complex data sets and delivering clear, actionable insights.
  • Ability to manage large‑scale data projects, identify emerging trends and provide recommendations that drive significant business impact.
  • Strong sense of ownership over data quality, structure and reporting consistency.

As a matter of company policy, Wonder does not sponsor applicants for employment visa status for this role. Our hybrid model requires three days a week in the office; many team members choose to come in more often to take advantage of in‑person collaboration and connection. Compensation & Benefits
  • New York: $128,000 per year
  • Illinois: $115,000 per year
  • Wonder uses geographic‑specific salary structures; the final salary offer will take into account various factors, including candidate’s skills, education, training, credentials and experience.
  • Benefits: Competitive salary package including equity and 401K, multiple medical, dental and vision plans to meet employees’ needs and many other benefits and perks.
