The Opportunity
The North America IT Fiber application team is looking for a Sr. Analyst, IT Fiber Systems to serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and the technical delivery team, ensuring that the Forestry and Fiber systems platform is configured and utilized to meet strategic supply chain objectives. As a Sr. Analyst, you will bridge the gap between business needs and technology solutions, ensuring that the Forestry and Fiber systems platform delivers tangible value to business operations and processes.
How You Will Impact Smurfit Westrock
This role focuses on collaborative identification of issues/opportunities, capturing and translating requirements into functional designs and implementing solutions which optimize efficiency and compliance across the Forestry and Fiber systems platform.
- Collaborate with forestry and fiber operations to identify opportunities to improve performance and efficiency by utilizing various technologies to implement impactful solutions
- Lead in solution design and implementation of various ad-hoc projects which add value to the forestry and fiber environment
- Provide application governance of common standards, policies, and methodologies
- Support cyber security initiatives and policies to ensure compliance
- Support a consistent architecture and uniform approach across the organization; ensure end-to-end process integration across the business and manufacturing processes
- Participate in the construction of application roadmaps as well as enhancements
- Serve as the solution expert to identify and address production problems
- Configure software settings to deliver business outcomes
- Partner with key stakeholders to drive improved solution capabilities by understanding business needs and evolving technologies
- Perform cross training to enable support and backfill team responsibilities across the systems platform

Skills-Knowledge Desired
- Bachelor's degree or combination of education and experience – Master’s degree level of experience and education preferred
- 7-10 years or more – Implementing and supporting applications – preferably in the recycle industry and/or forest industry; working knowledge of the paper industry and specifically fiber industry (Virgin, Recycle, both or others – metals, plastics, etc.)
- Ability to travel approximately 10-15%
- Experience leading application project as a project manager
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Operational experience in the Forestry or Recycle Fiber Field
- Strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive
- 7-10 years or more – Technical experience in progressive accomplishments in implementing technology-enabled solutions to complex business problems within an ERP solution
- Experience or working knowledge configuring 3Log vendor LIMS or LabWiz software related to user data entry options and screen entry selections
- Technical troubleshooting skills for software, hardware, desktop PC’s or networking communication issues
- Experience integrating various hardware/software products related to the 3Log software suite and other software products such as WebMethods, J.D. Edwards and SQL databases
- Understanding of Microsoft Office 365, Excel, Visio, MS Project, SharePoint, Power Apps, Power Flows, and Power BI
- Working knowledge of MS SQL syntax and database architecture with knowledge of data cubes a plus
- Experience writing SSIS and SSRS coding strings associated to data transference and MS scheduled jobs
- Hands‑on experience loading and configuring Microsoft desktop Windows/10 OS and interfacing bar code label printers, scanners, and touch screen configurations
- Working knowledge of Agile principles associated to software development, break fix and demand intake processing
- Experience working with or configuring external user access associated with extranet Web Portal technology
- Working knowledge of ServiceNow associated to demand intake, break fix, project management and financial tracking
- Knowledge of contracts, product pricing, or procurement activities a plus
