Xylem seeks a Sr. Financial Analyst to partner with Finance and Operations leadership, guiding strategic decisions through complex financial analysis.

This hybrid role in Charlotte, NC requires balancing forecasting, budgeting, and performance reporting with cross-functional collaboration and data-driven decision making. The position emphasizes improving forecast accuracy, managing variances, and delivering timely analyses while supporting inventory, productivity, and strategic initiatives

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years related financial work experience.
• Proven analytical ability and leadership capabilities.
• CPA or CMA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support the overall forecast and budget process for Smart Metering, understanding revenue, margins, expenses, capital projects, investments, headcount, etc.
• Provide oversight and management of weekly status meetings of operations, labor and overhead spending.
• Drive insights to senior operations management through data and analytics.
• Monitor inventory levels and align with budget/forecast expectations.
• Coordinate and execute Smart Metering budget, strategic plan, and forecasting activities.
• Provide status updates to senior leadership on financial results and variances.
• Collaborate across time zones and implement data integrity processes; conduct ad hoc analyses as needed.

The role will also actively partner with the Finance Manager and Operations Director to provide finance support to business challenges.This position is expected to work a hybrid (in-office 3x per week) schedule based in Charlotte, NC.Responsibilities:Supports the overall forecast and budget process for Smart Metering through understanding of revenue, margins, expenses, capital projects, investments, headcount, etc. ensuring clear understanding of all variances and critical evaluation of input. (Key result: All variances from forecast, budget and prior year can be adequately explained, and improvements that can be made to enhance future forecast accuracy).Provide oversight and management of weekly status meetings of operations, labor and overhead spending to track efficiencies and variance to budget and forecastDrive business and financial insights into the senior operations management team through data and analyticsMonitor all inventory levels and ensure that inventory is aligned to budget and forecast expectationsSupport overall coordination and execution of the Smart Metering budget, strategic plan, and forecasting activities, understanding the year over year changes.Provide daily, weekly, and monthly status updates to senior leadership on financial results and comparisons to latest estimates and forecastsWork closely with CI Leadership and provide savings guidance guidelines and present Productivity results to Senior LeadershipImplement standard processes and procedures to ensure data integrity and completenessAd hoc analysis as needed by management. Time would usually be of the essence in these analyses.Qualifications:Bachelors Degree in Accounting or FinanceMBA or Advanced Degree preferredCPA or CMA preferredMinimum of 5 years related financial work experienceProven analytical ability and leadership capabilitiesDemonstrated experience in financial modeling and planning required.Ability to work on multiple projects and manage priorities simultaneouslyStrong analytical, critical thinking, prioritization, and time management skillsAbility to work effectively across multiple time zonesExcellent communication skills, attention to detail and the ability to communicate to non-finance team membersExpert in Microsoft Office applications and databases. Experience with OneStream and Business Objects preferred.ERP experience preferred.Xylem does not provide sponsorship for this position.The estimated salary range for this position is $97,000 to $112,000 plus bonus. Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience and work location, and is not typically at the top of the range.
