Overview

As the Senior Analyst, E-Commerce Insights and Business Planning, you will help drive e-commerce performance and enable our grocery brands to predict and respond to our customers' evolving e-commerce needs across 19 states, 2000+ stores, and 20+ e-commerce fulfillment facilities. You'll be part of the department that partners with our brands to set the strategy for e-commerce fulfillment, and a major player on the team that establishes the e-commerce network design, supports tactical and strategic planning, drives the three-year e-commerce market outlook, and delivers actionable insights to support significant business decisions for our five multi-billion dollar grocery brands.

Our flexible/hybrid work schedule includes 3 in-person days at one of our core locations and 2 remote days. Our core office locations include Chicago, IL.

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Responsibilities

You’ll use your data acumen, technological expertise, and passion for problem-solving to build, maintain, and evolve our multiple in-house analytical capabilities. You’ll partner across teams and functions to develop recommendations to optimize capacity, calibrate the fulfillment network, maximize sales capture, and manage costs. Your day-to-day responsibilities will vary based on our projects and business needs, but will include the following:

  • Enabling the e-commerce network strategy team to answer juicy and ambiguous business questions such as, "What does the e-commerce market look like in 2030?" and "What's the capital investment needed to expand our e-commerce reach to rural customers?" and "How do we best position and calibrate hourly capacity?"
  • Owning at least one proprietary capability (solution) end-to-end, designing, coding, and deploying new features, documenting and training on the solution, developing the product roadmap, troubleshooting bugs, managing third-party vendors, collaborating on end user analysis, and supporting other solutions as needed.
  • Evolving our solution ecosystem by keeping up with company-wide performance ambitions and industry trends, learning and implementing leading practices, engaging with external tool communities, and developing new models and solutions to stay ahead of changing business needs.
  • Governing all data inputs and outputs by driving the collection, cleansing, and validation of solution inputs, developing and maintaining data pipelines, ensuring integrity and accuracy of outputs, and facilitating end-user testing.
  • Analyzing company data, external data, and solution data outputs with team members and cross-functional partners to produce data-driven insights and visualizations to address brand questions, business challenges, and key strategic decisions.
  • Partnering with our data teams and cross-functional teams to enable our fulfillment teams, executive leadership, and brand partners to get the data, insights and reporting they need.
  • Driving continuous improvement and supporting the future of our team via retrospectives, effort estimation and budgeting, process definition and enhancements, initiative prioritization, and artifact and template development.
Requirements
  • Work Experience (5+ years) in data analysis, data science, network optimization, mathematical modeling, analytics, and/or supply chain optimization.
  • Degree or Equivalent Experience in Statistics, Data Science/Analytics, Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Supply Chain Management, or similar field.
  • Core Competencies in analyzing data, managing end-to-end data integration and transformation, building models across multiple programming languages, developing reporting and analytics solutions, designing and maintaining databases, capturing business requirements and translating to technical solutions.
  • Technical Skills and hands-on experience in data integration, data analysis, root cause analysis, database design, data querying, and optimization software.
  • Analytical Skills with the ability to work with large data sets, structure analyses, dig into data at different levels of detail (micro and macro level), and identify trends, gaps, and anomalies
  • Power Skills and demonstrated success in solution design, project management, requirements gathering, solution maintenance, cross-functional collaboration, process mapping, and communication across varying levels of technical aptitude.
  • Software or Programming experience in optimization products and platforms (AIMMS, CPLEX, Gurobi, FICO Mosel Xpress, Llamasoft, IBM LogicNetPlus, Blue Yonder Supply Chain Strategist, SAP APO, or equivalent), data querying and visualization tools (Alteryx, Tableau, and PowerBI required, Databricks preferred), relational database management (SQL skills required), and data preparation and analysis (Excel skills required).
  • Background in retail (e-commerce ideal!) or CPG supply chain, analytics, or operations, ideally with exposure to geo-spatial analysis, network optimization and design, strategic planning, and/or tactical planning.
