Senior Analyst, Corporate Financial Planning & Analysis

Join us at Cengage as the Senior Analyst, Corporate FP&A where you will have the exciting opportunity to contribute to financial performance by supporting corporate reporting and forecasting.
What you will do here:
Driver-Based Budgeting & Forecasting
Collaborates with FP&A team members and business partners to lead financial planning activities, including budgeting, forecasting, and revenue and expense driver analysis
Supports long-range planning for Cengage, including modeling, coordination, and consolidation of business unit financial projections
Builds and maintains models to support long-term decisions by understanding profit and loss impacts
Identifies efficiency opportunities based on business unit economics
Develops financial projections for planning and investment decisions
Assists in developing market and competitor intelligence and analyzing business opportunities
Assists in crafting budgeting and forecasting decks for executive discussions
Internal / External Reporting
Prepares and distributes monthly financial reports showing performance
Proactively identifies key insights in performance trends and provides analysis
Streamlines planning and reporting processes for continuous improvement
Updates financial reporting structures to align with business management requirements
Supports external investor presentations and data requirements for reporting
Skills you will need here:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in accounting, finance, or a related field
Minimum of 2-4 years’ experience in investment banking, private equity, FP&A, or a similar role
Knowledge of financial statements - Balance Sheet, P&L, Cash Flow
Familiarity with financial transactions, including M&A, debt refinancing, and equity raises
Excellent working knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills with an ability to balance multiple activities
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Outstanding analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills
Curiosity, resourcefulness, flexibility, and a willingness to collaborate
Self-starter who takes initiative; confident under pressure and meets deadlines

The full base pay range has been provided for this position. Individual base pay will vary based on work schedule, qualifications, experience, internal equity, and geographic location. Sales roles often incorporate a significant incentive compensation program beyond this base pay range.
