Sr. AI Software Engineer – Coding Agent

Tencent Overseas IT supports rapid global growth with future‑ready IT platforms and leads strategy, architecture, and execution to empower game studios.

Responsibilities

• Architect and lead the development of a robust, scalable AI Coding Agent tailored to our game development workflows (UE/Unity in C++, C#, etc.).
• Integrate the AI agent directly into developer IDEs (Visual Studio, VS Code) and game engines (Unreal Engine, Unity).
• Collaborate closely with game developers, technical artists, and engine programmers to gather requirements, understand pain points, and iterate on the tool’s features.
• Optimize model inference speed and resource usage to ensure the agent is fast and responsive without hindering developer workstations.
• Mentor other engineers on the team and establish best practices for AI development, agentic RAG, and agent-based architectures.
• Stay current with the latest research in AI, code generation, and LLMs to continuously improve the agent’s capabilities.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience in Python, TypeScript, C++, or C#.
• Proven experience building complex AI systems with hands‑on expertise in Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) AI Agent architectures.
• Deep, hands‑on experience with LLM APIs and/or fine‑tuning and serving open‑source models.
• Strong understanding of prompt engineering and context engineering to maximize model relevance and accuracy.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to deliver results in a fast‑paced environment.
• Experience with observability, performance optimization, and production incident response.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, or related technical field (or equivalent experience).

Preferred Qualifications

• Direct experience building a Coding Agent or similar developer‑facing AI tool (IDE plugins, CLI).
• Experience in the game development industry or with game engines (Unreal, Unity).

Compensation

Base salary: $116,200.00–$269,100.00 per year, plus sign‑on, relocation package, restricted stock units, and comprehensive benefits.
