For our client, we are seeking a Sr AI Data Science Manager to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space.

This role will lead a data science team focused on advancing generative AI and LLM-driven solutions that support business goals in a highly regulated environment. The manager will shape technical standards, guide model development, and help ensure AI initiatives are designed for scalability, performance, and responsible use. This position also partners closely with business, technology, validation, and compliance stakeholders to translate AI capabilities into practical outcomes. The ideal candidate will strengthen organizational capability in AI ethics and support the delivery of high-quality, well-governed AI solutions.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $116,000 – $216,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of data scientists, fostering innovation and accountability
• Guide the development and implementation of generative AI solutions, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards
• Establish frameworks for evaluating LLM performance and ensure consistent data curation practices
• Oversee documentation of AI models and collaborate with validation and compliance teams for ethical deployment
• Champion techniques for continuous improvement in AI output quality and relevance
• Serve as a liaison to business and technology partners, translating AI concepts into actionable insights
• Build organizational capability in Generative AI ethics and responsible AI principles

Qualifications

• Master's or Ph.D. in a quantitative discipline with 7+ years of relevant experience, including 2+ years in leadership
• Proven track record in leading data science or AI teams, managing delivery, and setting technical standards
• Deep expertise in traditional ML/AI practices and Generative AI techniques, particularly LLMs
• Hands-on experience with Python and relevant libraries for LLMs and data manipulation
• Knowledge of cloud computing, distributed systems, and MLOps principles for scalable AI solutions
• Strong understanding of AI ethics and regulatory considerations for AI/LLM deployments
• Excellent communication skills for translating complex AI concepts to diverse audiences
