An innovative aerospace company is seeking a Sr. Aerodynamics Engineer to join their dynamic team. This role involves predicting aerodynamics and aerothermal environments for the Starship, utilizing advanced modeling and simulations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in aerodynamic analysis and a strong understanding of fluid dynamics across various flight regimes. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will ensure safe landings and contribute to groundbreaking technologies aimed at enabling human life on Mars. If you're passionate about aerospace engineering and eager to push the boundaries of exploration, this opportunity is for you.
Join to apply for the Sr. Aerodynamics Engineer (Starship) role at SpaceX.
SpaceX was founded under the belief that a future where humanity is exploring the stars is fundamentally more exciting than one where we are not. Today, SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars.
The Starship Aerodynamics team is responsible for predicting the aerodynamics and aerothermal environments of booster and ship during all phases of their missions. Aerodynamics engineers use models, simulations, and wind-tunnel testing to provide accurate predictions ahead of flight validation. The team works closely with the GNC (guidance, navigation, and control) team to enable safe landing and recovery of Starship stages. They also support vehicle structure engineers during design. Candidates should have a clear understanding of flow fields experienced across various flight regimes, from subsonic to hypersonic, and apply this understanding in their work.
Pay range: $125,000 - $175,000 per year. Compensation is determined based on experience and skills. Benefits include stock options, bonuses, comprehensive medical coverage, 401(k), paid time off, and more.
