Job summary

PROENERGY in Houston, TX seeks a Field Service Technician to execute gas turbine work in customer sites and in the field. You will lead a field service team, disassemble/assemble turbine components, perform inspections, and ensure quality while traveling 75–90%.

Reports to Field Service Manager; location is 6246 McHard Road, Houston, TX 77053. Requires 2-year technical degree or 5+ years of experience; US work authorization; pre-employment drug screen and background check; willingness to travel

Qualifications

  • Two-year technical degree in aviation or mechanics, or 5+ years of relevant work experience.
  • 5+ years mechanical experience on LM6000 & LM2500 aero-derivative gas turbines.
  • US work authorization is required; no sponsorship.
  • Pre-employment drug screen and background check completed.

Responsibilities

  • Lead field service personnel and direct teams during job tasks.
  • Generate and submit timely technical and field reports.
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance per technical manuals.
  • Provide technical support and training to field service personnel.
  • Disassemble and assemble gas turbine components and modules; inspect engine parts.

Position Summary

Responsible for the timely execution of gas turbine work in a field environment. Perform field service work at customer facility under the direction of the Field Service Manager. Work as part of a field service team to perform various field service jobs which include the Removal/Install of the gas turbine from the package, HPC Top casework, Hot section Exchanges, Borescope & package inspections, etc. Ensure quality work is being performed with attention to detail.

Position Responsibilities
  • Functions as a working lead in the field and will direct field service personnel that have been assigned to them during job tasks
  • Generates and submits timely Technical & Field Reports
  • Performs preventative and corrective maintenance in accordance with technical manual procedures
  • Provides technical support and instructional training as needed to the company’s field service representatives
  • Assists the field services team with input in the creation, improvement, and implementation of procedures and inspection processes for field service.
  • Performs disassembly and assembly of gas turbine components and modules.
  • Inspects individual engine modules & components and assesses condition.
  • Use common, precise measuring and specialty tools in the repair of turbine engines and components.
  • Communicates effectively with coworkers and Field Service Manager.
  • Maintains a clean and safe work environment.
  • Complies with all company policies, procedures, and commercial commitments.
  • Follows verbal directions and complies with written maintenance procedures and inspection criteria.
  • Extensive travel (i.e., 75% - 90%) is required.
  • When on assignment in the field, workdays and hours may be extended
Required Qualifications
  • A two-year technical degree in aviation or mechanics or more than 5 yearsof relevant work experience in lieu of education
  • 5 or more years of mechanical experience on LM6000 & LM2500 aero-derivative Gas Turbines
  • US work authorization is a precondition of employment. The company will not consider candidates who require sponsorship for a work-authorized visa.
  • Successful candidate will need to satisfactorily complete pre-employment drug screen and background check
Desired Qualifications
  • The ability to travel domestically & internationally.
  • Ability to function as a team lead
  • Experience in Level 1 & 2 maintenance on LM6000 & LM2500
  • Experience in Borescope Inspection of LM6000 & LM2500
  • Demonstrated understanding of aero gas turbine maintenance functions.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Technical competence including understanding software, hardware, networks, etc.
