Job summary

Akkodis is seeking an experienced MBSE/Systems Engineer onsite in Marietta, GA for a 12+ month project. You will lead manufacturing process development, model-based design reviews, and V&V activities to optimize complex aerospace hardware.

The role requires 5–8 years in manufacturing engineering, MBSE proficiency, and strong knowledge of the MBSE toolchain (CAMEO, SysML, EA, DOORS). Swing shift is possible; U.S. Citizenship is required.

Qualifications

• MSCS/BSCS degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
• Preferable: Master’s degree or MBSE coursework.
• 5-8 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, preferably in Aerospace, Avionics, DoD, or high tech hardware.
• 5+ years of experience in Systems Engineering.
• 3+ years of experience with MBSE using CAMEO/MagicDraw, SysML, EA, and/or DOORS.
• Influencing decisions without formal authority (technical lead on design reviews, process improvement initiatives).
• Understanding of the Systems Engineering V Model, requirements flow down, and verification & validation (V&V) processes.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, fabrication, and material handling.
• Drive adoption of new technologies and processes (automation, robotics, CAM software) to improve efficiency, costs and quality.
• MBSE experience creates and analyzes 3D based model data environments to optimize manufacturing process digital work instructions.
• Leverage factory data to develop SPC approaches and integrate reporting and data analytics for continuous improvement.
• Provide input to product design regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.

• Must be available to support Swing Shift: M-Th 4pm-2:30am

REQUIREMENTS:

PROJECT SCOPE:

• Performs in a collaborative environment to develop and implement manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, fabrication, andmaterial handling.
• Drives adoption of new technologies and processes (automation, robotics, computer aided manufacturing software, etc.) to achieve greater efficiency, cost reduction and quality improvement.
• MBSE experience creates and analyzes 3D based model data environment to optimize manufacturing process digital work instructions.
• Leverages understanding of materials and automatic processes to define operations procedures and build sequences to drive operational excellence.
• Evaluates performance (including IoT devices, etc.) of equipment and tools to verify their efficiency and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure operational excellence.
• Leverages factory data to develop statistical process control approaches and integrates reporting and data analytics solutions for continuous improvement.
• Provides input to product design regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
