The National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA) is seeking a senior software developer to join our IT team in Arlington, VA. You will contribute to building and maintaining enterprise applications using .NET, Angular, Bootstrap, SQL Server, MongoDB, AWS, and modern CI/CD practices.

You will work on a product-focused team in an agile environment with flexible hybrid work up to 2 days per week, collaborating with stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable solutions for our 900+

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in CS/IS or 5-8 years equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years development experience with .NET, Angular 17+, Bootstrap, SQL Server or similar RDBMS, Mongo or similar document DB, AWS, GitHub.
  • 5-8 years back-end: design/implement APIs.
  • 5-8 years UI: design/implementation with modern JS framework.

Responsibilities

  • Contributes to all aspects of the software development lifecycle to support and enhance existing solutions.
  • Employs secure coding practices when writing new features for .NET stack.
  • Builds or modifies CI/CD pipelines to be robust and automated.
  • Writes test automation with appropriate test coverage.
  • Ability to report to the office when required.

We are seeking a core contributor and experienced software developer on a product team. The person in this role develops software using best practices throughout the life cycle of an application including requirements analysis & documentation, design, development, testing, release, and support of software applications. They will work on a product team utilizing agile methods. This position is eligible for NRECA's hybrid schedule which allows flexibility to work from home up to 2 days per/week.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contributes to all aspects of the software application development lifecycle to support and enhance existing solutions for NRECA trade association and I&FS lines of business
  • Employs best practices for secure code development when writing new features and functionality, for various platforms using common frameworks including .Net.
  • Builds or modifies the product's continuous integration and continuous deployment pipeline, working independently on standard projects, and ensures it is as robust and automated as possible.
  • Employs software development best practices in accordance with the product development team.
  • Writes test automation. Ensures all areas of the product are covered by the appropriate level of automated tests
  • Ability to report to the office when required
Formal Education Required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Information Systems Technology or 5-8 years equivalent experience.
Experience Required
  • 5+ Years Development: Design, implementation, test, and support of the following software applications: .NET,.Angular 17 or higher, BootStrap, SQL Server or similar Relational Database technology, Mongo or similar document database technology, AWS cloud technologies, GitHub.
  • 5-8 Years Back-End: Design and implementation of server-side functionality and APIs.
  • 5-8 Years User Interface: Design and implementation of user interface using modern JavaScript framework.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5+ Years Development: Design, implementation, test, and support of the following software applications:TeamCity, Octopus, Github Copilot, Dynamio DB, Cypress automated testing framwork, Nodejs,rxjs, ngrx
Essential Physical Requirements
  • The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal and extensive reading.
  • Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work.
Salary Range: $126,000-$156,000 annual salary

Final compensation determined by individual qualifications, experience, and internal equity.
