Job Description

As a Sr Advanced Software Engineer - Display Services at Honeywell Aerospace, you will work in a fast-paced development environment with a team of experienced software and systems engineers to satisfy technical requirements, support functional load deliveries, and ensure compliance with certification requirements. You will report to our Sr Engineering Manager and work out of our Aguadilla, Puerto Rico location. External hires will begin with 90 days onsite before transitioning to a hybrid (3/2) work schedule. This position does provide relocation assistance.

Key Responsibilities

• Development, systems integration, and verification of core Display applications to be hosted on the Next Generation Avionics Platform
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define software requirements and specifications
• Implement software solutions that meet performance, security, and scalability requirements
• Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members
• Testing and integration on test benches in labs
• Staying up to date with industry trends and best practices in software development

Travel, up to 10%, may be expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics
• 8+ years of experience in software development
• 5+ years of experience with C++ or object‑oriented programming skills
• 5+ years of experience with software development methodologies such as Agile or Scrum
• 5+ years of experience with software architecture and design development skills
• Ability to read, write and speak English fluently

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or related experience in Software Engineering
• Advanced degrees in Computer Science or related fields
• SW architecture design and embedded C++ coding experience
• Experience developing software for embedded systems
• Multi-core / multi-thread development experience
• Software development lifecycle experience per DO-178C
• Experience with Software Verification and Validation using C++
• Strong analytical and software development skills
• Team collaboration skills
• Passion for continuous learning and professional development
• Experience creating test cases based on software requirements
• Knowledge of software configuration and change management practices
• Familiarity with JIRA, Bitbucket, DOORS NG, and Confluence
