Job description

Overview

Designs, modifies, develops, writes and implements software programming applications. Supports and/or installs software applications/operating systems. Participates in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing and certification of software. Requires a bachelor's degree in a related area and 4-6 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks. May lead and direct the work of others. May report directly to a project lead or manager. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's of Science degree in Engineering or related discipline
  • 8 or more years of experience in software and hardware development processes and methodologies
  • Due to government restrictions, must be a U.S. citizen (no dual citizenships) or lawful permanent resident
Additional Qualifications
  • Masters of Science degree in Engineering or related discipline
  • Aerospace experience
  • Project management skills
  • Experience working within a defined software process
  • Working knowledge of automated test equipment (ATE)
  • Working knowledge of general purpose test equipment
  • Experience with hardware/software integration
  • Understanding of computer scripting languages
  • Capable of working in a lab or production environment
  • Capable of working with cross-functional disciplines (hardware, software, systems) in a team environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with MS Office suite of applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, Project)
  • Experience with creating technical documents such as detail design documents and version description documents is required (experience with government/military documentation is a plus)
  • Experience working with Emerging Markets is a plus
  • Object Oriented Design, Visual Studio and .NET programming skills with Windows API knowledge is a plus
  • Experience in TestStand, LabWindows CVI, LabVIEW, and C programming languages is a plus
  • Familiarity with communications busses such as Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet, MIL-STD-1553, IEEE-1394 (FireWire), RS-232, RS-422/485, and IEEE-488 (GPIB) is a plus
  • Experience with software versioning control software and techniques is a plus
  • Experience generating and writing supporting documents such as test system software requirements, user manuals, software validation documents is a plus
  • System engineering skills/training is a plus
  • Experience working on Control Moment Gyroscope test software is a plus use of echarge for timekeeping.
