Job description

As a Senior Advanced R&D Engineer/Scientist at Honeywell, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills in process design and modeling across various technologies. This role supports Honeywell UOP’s digital solutions strategy by developing process performance data analytics and connected solutions that optimize operations and profitability. You will join UOP’s Research and Development organization, contributing to digital tools that impact the profitability and reliability of customer facilities. UOP, a Honeywell company based in Des Plaines, Illinois, is a leader in processing technology, offering engineering services, catalysts, equipment, and digital solutions for the refining, gas processing, and petrochemical industries. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Lead and support technology development programs
  2. Deliver digital data analytics, performance solutions, and process optimization tools for UOP’s technologies
  3. Collaborate with R&D, Engineering, and Technical Service teams
  4. Work directly with internal customers to understand their needs and present solutions
  5. Define and prioritize technical content to maximize customer value

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor’s degree in sciences, technology, engineering, or mathematics
  • At least 5 years of industry experience
  • At least 3 years of Python programming experience, including pandas & NumPy
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry with 3+ years of Python experience
  • Experience with multivariate statistics, experimental design, modeling, data analytics, parameter estimation, and numerical methods
  • Skills in machine learning, data science, optimization, and algorithms
  • Experience in software development, object-oriented programming, cloud services, UI/UX design, and SQL
