Resideo is seeking a Sr. Advanced Firmware Engineer to design, develop, test, and maintain embedded firmware for next-generation smart home devices.

As a Sr. Advanced Firmware Engineer at Resideo, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining embedded firmware for our next-generation smart home devices. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, software developers, and product managers, to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance of our products. Job Duties

• Design, develop, and maintain embedded firmware for smart home products.
• Collaborate with hardware and software teams to define system requirements and architecture.
• Develop and optimize real-time embedded systems for performance and power efficiency.
• Debug and troubleshoot firmware issues using industry-standard tools and methodologies.
• Implement and test communication protocols, including SPI, I2C, UART, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Zigbee.
• Ensure firmware quality and reliability through rigorous testing and validation.
• Participate in design and code reviews to maintain high coding standards.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies and best practices in embedded systems development.

You Must Have

• 8+ years of experience in firmware development.
• Proficiency in C/C++ programming for embedded systems.

We Value

• Experience facilitating Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, daily standups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
• Demonstrated understanding of CI/CD pipelines and Agile delivery practices, with experience identifying and removing impediments that impact release frequency, deployment quality, and team velocity.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Experience with microcontrollers (ARM, PIC, etc.) and embedded development tools.
• Familiarity with real-time operating systems (RTOS) and low-level hardware interfaces.
• Knowledge of wireless communication protocols (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Zigbee, Z-Wave) is a plus.
• Experience with version control systems (Git, SVN) and software development lifecycle processes.
• Experience with IoT or smart home products.
• Familiarity with scripting languages (Python, Bash) for automation and testing.
• Exposure to cloud connectivity solutions for embedded systems.
