This position offers a base salary typically between $170,000.00 and $269,000.00.

Description

The Sr. AD Medical Analytics and Insights applies advanced analytics and machine learning techniques to extract insights from complex data sets, supporting strategic decision-making and innovation within Medical Affairs. The role combines advanced analytics expertise with deep healthcare domain knowledge to harness the power of data for accelerating impact of medical, improving patient care and supporting evidence-based decision making.

Duties & Responsibilities
  1. Identify and gather relevant data sources for medical analyses. This can include claims data, KEE/KOL profiling data (publications, clinical trials, etc.), internal MSL insights, electronic health records (EHRs), and digital engagement data.
  2. Develop and implement machine learning models and algorithms (e.g., predictive models, natural language processing) to extract insights, predict outcomes, and optimize decision-making processes. Sanitize and process disparate datasets to create integrated data repositories suitable for analysis. Analyze large and complex data sets (structured and unstructured) to identify trends and insights that align with medical affairs needs and priorities. Coordinate with medical affairs stakeholders to understand business problems and needs. Hypothesize outcomes for the business needs and translate to data science projects. Support the development of data-driven strategies and initiatives. Communicate and present findings and insights to the internal stakeholders within the organization, including senior leadership.
  3. Stay abreast of emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in data science, healthcare informatics, and regulatory landscape to propose innovative solutions and enhancements.
  4. This role involves analyzing complex structured, unstructured and sensitive information in a highly regulated and compliant environment. The individual will have to design and deploy advanced analytical techniques and algorithms to derive insights from healthcare data.
  5. Strong working knowledge of AI / ML techniques, predictive modeling, targeting, statistical analysis, data manipulation and visualization. The individual needs to have in-depth understanding of the regulatory and compliance policies in the healthcare space. Knowledge of the medical affairs function and typical datasets used in the healthcare industry will be critical.
  6. Accountable for managing complex datasets and deriving key insights based on data. Analyzing a variety of information to determine unmet needs and corresponding action plans from a medical affairs perspective.
Requirements
  1. Bachelor´s degree from an accredited institution required. Master´s/PhD preferred.
  2. BS/BA in Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Business/Data analytics, or a related equivalent with eight (8) years, or Masters degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Business/Data analytics, or a related equivalent with six (6) years of healthcare/pharmaceutical industry or academic experience. Experience must also include working directly with product segmentation, targeting, and promotion-response modeling.
  3. Strong statistical background with extensive modeling experience.
  4. Proficiency in SAS and other data extraction and analytical tools such as SQL, Python, and R. Experience with Excel and Power Point.
  5. Strong interpersonal abilities, can manage multiple projects and direct reports at the same time.
