Job summary

ArchWell Health is seeking a Senior Accounting Analyst, Reporting & Special Projects to play an integral role in the Accounting department at our rapidly growing company.

This position will be responsible for general accounting within the operating expense accounting function, including preparing, recording, and analyzing accounting transactions to ensure the integrity of accounting records for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with GAAP.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum of five years of progressive accounting experience.
• Healthcare experience preferred; CPA strongly preferred.
• Payroll and/or lease accounting experience preferred.
• Experience with Oracle NetSuite a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and record accounting transactions with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations and analyses.
• Analyze general ledger data and prepare financial and variance reports.
• Record payroll and benefit-related journal entries and reconcile related accounts.
• Maintain lease accounting records and ASC 842 journal entries.
• Support internal controls and risk assessment across accounting processes.
• Assist with audits, tax provisions, and year-end deliverables.
• Develop and maintain accounting memos, procedures, and process documentation.
• Cross-train across the Accounting department and participate in ad-hoc projects.

Job Summary:

ArchWell Health is seeking a Senior Accounting Analyst, Reporting & Special Projects to play an integral role in the Accounting department at our rapidly growing company. This position will be responsible for general accounting within the operating expense accounting function, including preparing, recording, and analyzing accounting transactions to ensure the integrity of accounting records for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with GAAP. Additionally, this role will assist with the development and maintenance of accounting policies and procedures, internal controls, workflows, and systems.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Prepare and record accounting transactions with accuracy and attention to detail
• Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations
• Analyze general ledger data for completeness and accuracy and prepare financial and variance analyses and reports that contribute to financial reporting
• Record payroll and benefit-related journal entries, reconcile payroll and benefit-related accounts, and partner with the payroll department to resolve discrepancies
• Maintain lease accounting records and schedules and record lease journal entries in accordance with ASC 842
• Research complex lease accounting scenarios
• Record bank transactions and identify and resolve variances
• Assist with the development and maintenance of internal controls over financial reporting through risk assessment, segregation of duties, and continuous monitoring
• Assist with the buildout and maintenance of company-wide expense policies and approval matrices
• Assist with the buildout and maintenance of accounting memos, policies, and procedures in accordance with GAAP
• Create thorough process documentation for procedures performed

• Assist with the evaluation of current accounting processes and the development and implementation of new processes to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the accounting function

• Assist with the compilation of deliverables for interim and annual audits
• Assist with the compilation of deliverables for tax provision and return preparation
• Participate in and support with month-end close meetings focused on providing insights into operating expenses
• Cross-train on responsibilities across the Accounting department
• Ad-hoc projects and initiatives, as needed

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Understanding of technical accounting policies, regulations, financial statements, internal controls, and procedures
• Proven experience building and developing processes and procedures with a focus on continuous improvement
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Self-starter with the ability to work both independently and cross-functionally to achieve objectives
• Detail-oriented with strong judgment, analytical, problem solving, and critical thinking skills, with the ability to navigate complex issues and communicate solutions
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities and competing deadlines
• Ability to multi-task with strong organizational skills
• Effective communicator, able to present information clearly to internal stakeholders

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred
• Minimum of five (5) years of progressive accounting experience
• Healthcare experience preferred
• CPA designation strongly preferred
• Payroll and/or lease accounting experience preferred
• Experience with Oracle NetSuite a plus
