A well-established law firm based in New York City is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive accounting professional to take on a pivotal role within a dynamic and fast-paced legal environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the accounts payable process, including printing checks, uploading positive pay files, handling exception notifications, and resolving related issues.
• Monitor accounts payable payments for policy compliance.
• Process check requests, voids, wire transfers, and ACH payments as needed.
• Audit supporting documents to ensure accurate G/L coding, proper approvals, and adequate payment support prior to processing reimbursements.
• Analyze and record monthly immigration filing card reconciliations.
• Prepare assigned monthly reconciliations and balance sheet account analyses.
• Handle the preparation and filing of Commercial Rent Tax and Sales Tax returns.
• Prepare annual 1099 forms.
• Process staff payrolls and partner draws, including general ledger uploads.
• Administer 401(k) funding, including updating the payroll system in accordance with Fidelity feedback files.
• Assist with the annual financial review and workers’ compensation audit.
• Support special ad hoc projects as assigned.
