Job summary

STACK INFRASTRUCTURE in Denver, CO is seeking a Senior Accountant to lead monthly close, GL maintenance, and GAAP analysis. You will coordinate with the Accounting Director and cross-functional teams to deliver accurate financial statements and drive process improvements.

Ideal candidate has a BS in Accounting, 3+ years, US GAAP knowledge, and proficiency with NetSuite and Excel. This in-office role offers growth and strong benefits in a fast-growing data center business.

Qualifications

  • BS in Accounting required.
  • 3+ years of experience in accounting.
  • US work eligibility in the United States.
  • CPA and public accounting experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP.

Responsibilities

  • Complete the month end close process and journal entries.
  • Prepare monthly financial package including balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow with budget vs actual commentary.
  • Record transactions to the general ledger timely and accurately.
  • Interpret and analyze accounting transactions per GAAP.
  • Prepare account reconciliations and research discrepancies as needed.
  • Provide technical accounting research and implementation support.
  • Assist with purchase price accounting, acquisition entries and integration of companies.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with departments to understand results and improve processes.
  • Maintain strong relationships with Finance, Operations, and Treasury teams.
  • Prepare documentation for external audits.
  • Manage fixed asset accounting and capitalization policies.
  • Produce ad hoc reports and analyses to move the business forward.

Job Description
THE POSITION:

At STACK, the Senior Accountant is an essential part of the Finance and Accounting Department. You will be responsible for the monthly production and maintenance of all general ledger accounting, lead and manage the monthly close process, assist with financial statement preparation and analysis, technical accounting, process improvement, external audit coordination, and be the right-hand person to the Accounting Director.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, be exceptionally organized, self-motivated, and a master problem-solver. You should be able to thrive in a fast-paced multitasking environment and easily adapt to change and rapid company growth. Our ideal candidate will have a passion for accounting and customer service (external and internal).

Responsibilities
  • Complete the month end close process and preparation of journal entries
  • Prepare monthly financial package including balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement with budget vs actual commentary
  • Evaluate and record transactions to the general ledger timely and accurately
  • Analyze and interpret complex accounting transactions in accordance with GAAP
  • Prepare account reconciliations and research discrepancies as needed
  • Provide technical accounting research and implementation support
  • Assist with purchase price accounting, acquisition entries and integration of companies
  • Work cross functionally with various departments and teams to understand operating results and create efficiencies in accounting processes
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with clients and internal departments, including Finance, Operations, and Treasury teams
  • Provide support and prepare documentation for the external audit
  • Manage and maintain fixed asset accounting and capitalization policies
  • Ad-hoc reporting, analysis and special projects to move the business forward
THE DETAILS:

Location: Denver, CO - In office (3 days week)

Travel: less than 10%

Must be eligible to work in the United States

Must pass comprehensive background screening

MUST-HAVE QUALIFICATIONS:
  • BS in Accounting required
  • 3+ years prior work experience
  • CPA and public accounting experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP
  • Multi-entity and international experience preferred
  • NetSuite experience preferred
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office product suite, especially Excel
  • Detail-oriented
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and communications skills
  • Enjoys collaborating and works well cross-functionally with other teams
  • Ability to execute, process, and prioritize tasks with minimal-to-no supervision
  • Proven success in creating efficiencies in processes and procedures
Compensation Range:

$94,340.00 - $104,940.00
