Job summary

Depot Connect International seeks a Senior Accountant to own the general ledger, lead month-end close, and ensure GAAP-compliant financial statements. Based at our Tampa, Florida headquarters, this hybrid role emphasizes accuracy, process improvement and mentoring junior staff.

You will produce monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, manage reconciliations, audits, and intercompany activities while driving internal controls and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3–5 years of professional accounting experience; senior/lead preferred.
• Advanced Excel and ERP systems experience; Google Sheets advantageous.
• Strong analytical thinking and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets and P&L.
• Month-End Close: Create journal entries, track fixed assets, and manage accruals.
• Reconciliations: Perform balance sheet, bank, and intercompany reconciliations.
• Auditing & Compliance: Coordinate audits and prepare schedules and documentation.
• Process Improvement: Suggest improvements to procedures, accuracy, and controls.
• Mentorship: Guide and train junior accounting staff; support ad-hoc analyses.

We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Senior Accountant to join our finance & accounting team. In this role, you will take ownership of our general ledger, lead month-end close processes, and ensure the accuracy and integrity of our financial statements. The ideal candidate has deep knowledge of GAAP, excellent problem-solving skills, and a proven track record of improving accounting workflows.

This is a hybrid position based out of our Tampa, FL headquarters.

Key Responsibilities

• Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets and profit & loss statements.
• Month-End Close: Assist the close process by creating journal entries, tracking fixed assets, and managing accruals.
• Reconciliations: Perform complex balance sheet, bank, and intercompany reconciliations to ensure general ledger accuracy.
• Auditing & Compliance: Coordinate internal and external audits by preparing necessary schedules, workflows, and supporting documentation.
• Process Improvement: Evaluate current accounting procedures and recommend ways to improve efficiency, accuracy, and internal controls.
• Mentorship: Provide guidance, review work, and help train junior accounting staff.
• Ad-Hoc Analysis: Assist management with budgeting, variance analysis, and special financial projects as needed.

Qualifications & Skills

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Experience: 3–5 years of professional accounting experience; prior experience in a senior or lead role is preferred.
• Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables) Google Sheets and experience with ERP systems. A plus if (Great Plains, OneStream, BNA, CoStar, Blackline).
• Soft Skills: Strong analytical thinking, high attention to detail, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
