Job summary

Broadwind Industrial Solutions, LLC. is seeking a Senior Accountant in Sanford, NC to support revenue reporting, close processes, budgeting, forecasting and internal controls. The role involves cost analysis, system reports, and collaboration with auditors.

You should have a 4-year degree in accounting, CPA/CMA preferred, and 7+ years of broad-based accounting experience (AR, AP, inventory, audits, GL). This is a full-time on-site position in Sanford.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for accurate revenue reporting and adherence to revenue recognition; generate system reports and analyses.
• Assist in accurate and timely accounting close and reconciliations.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to identify root causes of cost variations.
• Develop and monitor internal controls to meet Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
• Coordinate with auditors and provide information as needed.
• Share technical knowledge on cost data and inventory transaction systems.
• Drive timely processing and meet established metrics/KPIs.
• Identify and suggest improvements to reduce handling and costs.
• Provide cross-functional support within accounting and related teams.

Broadwind Industrial Solutions is growing and adding a Sr. Accountant to our team in Sanford, NC. This position will monitor, support and execute tasks related to a broad base of accounting responsibilities and reporting functions. As this is a small team, employees in this role may complete or cover numerous duties.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Responsible for the accurate reporting of revenue and ensures adherence to the revenue recognition process; generate system reports and analysis as needed
• Assist in the accurate and timely accounting close and account reconciliations in support of preparation of financial reports.
• Assist the financial analysis and planning function in analyzing and determining root cause of cost variations and in support of budget and forecast activities.
• Develop and monitor internal control processes to meet the control requirements of Sarbanes-Oxley
• Communicate with auditors to answer questions and resolve problems.
• Serve as a resource of technical knowledge about cost data and system of inventory transactions; provide training or guidance to others in or outside of team.
• Drive consistent and timely processing of work and systems to ensure meeting established metrics/KPIs.
• Review, investigate and resolve issues; recommend solutions for the larger problems requiring leader involvement.
• Suggest process/system improvements that will reduce handling and costs.
• Provide support to other functions within the accounting team as needed.
• Assist with other projects as needed or assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Academic/Experience/Credentials/Certifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field required.
• CPA/CMA license or candidacy preferred.
• Associate’s degree with relative experience may be considered.
• 7+ yrs. experience in broad-based accounting functions.
• Experience in a combination of AR, AP, inventory/cycle counting, audits, financial analysis, general ledger and control processes.
• Public company experience beneficial.
