Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or advanced degree required; 5+ years of related experience, or 7+ years without degree.
  • Familiarity with insurance accounting concepts (premium, loss reserves, claims, reinsurance).
  • CPA designation or progress toward CPA certification is preferred.

## Sr AccountantApply: Remote Flex - North Carolina: Full time: Posted Today: RQ0019465**Job Description**Responsible for the preparation and review of the financial statements through the coordination of the month end close and reporting process. Responsible for gathering and analyzing complex financial information, evaluating accounting implications, and formulating recommendations for senior management based on findings. Provide technical guidance on accounting and fiscal procedures. Responsible for continuous improvement through the evaluation of accounting and reporting controls and the implementation of corrective action plans. Supports the implementation of projects to improve and/or facilitate accounting and reporting functions. Works with internal and external auditors and implementing recommendations, as applicable and fields internal and external inquiries, including those from external parties.**What You’ll Do*** Review journal entries and account reconciliations, assist with the monthly close activities, prepare schedules and other general accounting functions.* Manage or perform functions related to accounting and or reporting on a GAAP/SAP basis.* Participate in financial accounting issues resolution and process procedural changes.* May be responsible for setup and maintenance of accounting system, chart of account, or other reporting and accounting sub-systems.* Provide leadership, coaching, support & problem solving assistance, and knowledge transfer to others.* Research financial and operating data (including technical accounting pronouncements, promulgated regulatory bulletins, and benchmarked industry information), prepares financial analyses and reports of findings and prepares recommendations to management,* Perform due diligence reviews through detailed research of financial information.
