Job summary

Rite-Hite, a global leader in loading dock and door equipment, seeks a Senior Accountant to join our finance team in Milwaukee. This hybrid role blends hands-on accounting with collaboration across SSC, AP, and FP&A to ensure timely, accurate reporting.

You will manage journal entries, month-end close, and balance sheet reconciliations, while assisting audits and implementing process improvements using JD Edwards and Excel for reliable financial insights.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 2–5 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong experience with month-end close and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Experience with a Shared Services organization is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review journal entries and accruals across assigned accounting areas.
• Perform and review balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
• Support month‑end close activities and ensure accounting deadlines are met.
• Review journal entries and reconciliations prepared by the SSC for accuracy.
• Assist with accounting estimates and reserves under the guidance of the Accounting Manager.
• Investigate accounting questions with teams (SSC, AP, AR, Payroll, FP&A) to resolve issues.
• Maintain accurate accounting documentation and support internal/external audits.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and efficiency.

Rite-Hite is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our team and play an important role in maintaining accurate and timely financial reporting. In this position, you’ll be hands‑on with core accounting activities, support the month‑end close process, review work completed by our Shared Services Center (SSC), and help identify and resolve accounting issues.

This is a hybrid role with 3 days a week out of our Milwaukee, WI corporate office.

What You’ll Do

• Prepare and review journal entries and accruals across assigned accounting areas.
• Perform and review balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies as needed.
• Support month‑end close activities and ensure accounting deadlines are met.
• Review journal entries and reconciliations prepared by our Shared Services Center for accuracy and completeness.
• Assist with accounting estimates and reserves under the guidance of the Accounting Manager.
• Investigate accounting questions and partner with teams including Shared Services, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and FP&A to resolve issues.
• Maintain accurate accounting documentation and provide support for internal and external audit requests.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and efficiency.
• Apply sound accounting judgment while following established policies and procedures.

What You’ll Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 2–5 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong experience with month‑end close and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Experience working with or alongside a Shared Services organization.
• Experience with an ERP system; JD Edwards experience is preferred.
• Strong understanding of core accounting principles and processes.
• Ability to apply accounting judgment and effectively research and resolve issues.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with a high attention to detail.
• Ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines, particularly during month‑end close.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and financial systems.
