Summary
This role requires strategic, performance-driven individuals with strong problem-solving skills and high business acumen, capable of collaborating with multiple stakeholders. Ideal candidates will have sales experience in pediatric endocrinology clinics and/or in rare diseases, with experience in launching first-in-class therapies and building new markets. The Account Manager must maintain comprehensive knowledge of disease states and product labeling. The primary call targets include pediatric endocrinology, orthopedics, and genetics in both institutional and office settings, including pediatricians managing ACH patients. Responsibilities include disease and product education, office readiness, and stakeholder coordination. Skills needed include account management, organization, analysis, and adaptability. Flexibility, goal orientation, professionalism, and compliance are essential. Cold calling is required.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve sales objectives, market penetration, new patient starts, and revenue targets quarterly and annually.
  • Drive demand through clinical selling and education to healthcare providers focusing on skeletal conditions, including cold calling on key accounts.
  • Implement and monitor a strategic business plan.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in pediatric endocrinology, orthopedics, genetics, and referring physicians.
  • Participate in disease awareness initiatives and professional meetings.
  • Collaborate with the Skeletal Dysplasia brand team and other internal functions such as MSLs, Market Access, and Compliance.
  • Become an expert in clinical data and communicate its significance.
  • Provide business insights based on clinical practices.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies.
  • Remain flexible and agile as organizational needs evolve.

Scope

  • Availability for evenings and weekends for educational events (in-person and virtual).
  • Manage a multi-state territory with diverse customer base, depending on geography.
  • Travel overnight 40-60% based on territory needs.
  • Maintain virtual engagement skills to balance travel and virtual meetings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.

Preferred Experience

  • At least 5 years of sales experience in biotech/rare disease, especially with technically challenging, first-in-class products.
  • Experience with office-based selling in complex referral models.
  • Experience working in field teams with clinical support and reimbursement hubs.
  • Strong preference for Pediatric Endocrinology and/or Orthopedics experience.
  • Experience with new product launches, especially first-in-class products.
  • Experience working directly with patients and families.
  • Ability to manage long sales cycles and foster medical homes.

Territory: New York City.
