Job summary

Canon U.S.A., Inc. is seeking a field-based sales professional to grow strategic accounts in the Portland, OR area, selling production print hardware and software to printers, CRDs, in-plants, and graphic arts customers. You will manage long, complex deals and travel as needed.

The role emphasizes consultative, solution-based selling, strong relationship building, and proficient use of SFDC and Microsoft Office, with a base salary range and incentive program.

About the Role

Responsible for selling Canon's hardware and software technology-based solutions to printers, graphic houses, and fulfillment companies within an assigned account list. This role requires you to live within a reasonable commuting distance to Portland, OR so that you can adequately execute your job responsibilities.

Your Impact
  • Develops strategies to penetrate accounts with the key decision makers within assigned account list. The focus is on placing Canon equipment and solutions in new accounts.
  • Reports customer activity to management identifying: customer requirements, competitive trends, and changing environments.
  • Develops strategic plans to address customer's requirements on a local basis. Strategy should include short term as well as long-term goals.
  • Provides marketing, technical and administrative support to the named accounts' internal departments to ensure outstanding relations and excellent customer support in all facets of daily activity.
  • Develops plans to introduce/place Canon technology, service, software, and 3rd party solutions to address customer requirements.
  • Establishes high level relationships with customer base that will enhance long term working partnerships.
  • New market share is gained through strategic prospecting and ability to meet customer requirements by utilizing all resources available efficiently.
About You: The Skills & Expertise You Bring
  • 5+ years of commercial print
  • Direct experience selling into commercial printers, CRDs, in-plants, or graphic arts environments
  • Strong understanding of production print workflows (prepress, color, finishing, production output)
  • Experience with production devices (mono/color, sheetfed and/or roll-fed)
  • Proven success managing complex, high-value sales cycles
  • Preferred Experience
  • HP Indigo, Xerox Production, Ricoh Production, Heidelberg, Kodak, Fujifilm, Screen, Agfa
  • Workflow tools such as Fiery, PRISMA, FreeFlow, or Prinergy
  • Experience with $5M+ print environments or large fleet placements
  • Background in consultative / solution-based selling in production print
  • Additional Requirements
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to work independently in a field-based territory role
  • Proficiency with Salesforce (SFDC) and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to travel within assigned territory (occasional overnight travel required)
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record

We are providing the anticipated base salary range for this role: $60,000 - $81,550 annually. This role is eligible for incentive compensation under the terms of an applicable plan and/or policy. Incentive compensation earnings vary by quota assigned, at 100% of plan, the anticipated incentive compensation for this role is $76,582 annually. This role is also eligible for a transportation allowance.
