The 15,000 square foot facility, currently under construction and scheduled to open in Fall 2025, will boast 8 international squash courts (including 1 outdoor court), classrooms, a library, and offices.

About the Position

SquashBridge is seeking a dedicated and energetic Assistant Squash Coach to support all aspects of squash programming at our new facility. The Assistant Coach will work closely with the Squash Director to deliver high-quality training for students in our SEA after-school program, while also helping run clinics, lessons, and events for the community. This is an exciting opportunity for a coach who is passionate about youth development, committed to growing the game, and eager to make a positive impact on and off the court.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coach SEA student-athletes in after-school squash programming, focusing on skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
  • Assist with community squash programming including clinics, camps, and private lessons.
  • Support the planning and execution of tournaments, leagues, and other squash events.
  • Collaborate with the Squash Director, staff, and volunteers to ensure programs are well organized and inclusive.
  • Mentor young players and help create a welcoming and supportive environment for all.
  • Maintain professional standards of safety and care in all squash activities.
Qualifications
  • 1–2 years of coaching experience, ideally with junior players.
  • Familiarity with US Squash ratings, rules, and competition structure.
  • Strong communication skills and a passion for working with young people.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as required by programming.
  • US Squash Level 1 (or higher) coaching certification preferred; CPR/First Aid certification a plus.
Working Conditions
  • Based at the SquashBridge facility at 1691 Main Street, Bridgeport, CT.
  • Additional flexible hours available for clinics, lessons, and community programs (weekday mornings/evenings and weekends).
  • Requires physical activity and a valid driver’s license.
Compensation

The base salary is $30,000–$40,000, with additional earning potential from club activities (individual coaching, clinics, tournaments, school and college team roles), estimated at $20,000–$30,000+. Benefits include 20 days of paid time off and health insurance, among other benefits.
