Job summary

Terrible's is seeking a skilled Database Administrator (DBA) with strong Microsoft SQL Server expertise to manage and optimize our database environments. You will ensure performance, security, and availability while collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement best practices and support data-driven initiatives.

The role requires hands-on SQL/TSQL proficiency, experience with backups, DR testing, data modeling, and security controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in CS/IT or related field.
• Certifications in SQL Server or Azure DB administration are highly desirable.
• Minimum 4 years of experience as a Database Administrator focused on Microsoft SQL Server.
• Strong understanding of database concepts, data modeling, and schema design.
• Proficiency in SQL and T-SQL scripting; experience with performance tuning and capacity planning.
• Knowledge of database security best practices, backup/recovery strategies, and DR planning.
• Familiarity with data governance principles is a plus.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; strong communication with non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and upgrade Microsoft SQL Server databases and related tools to ensure high performance and reliability.
• Design, implement, and maintain database structures, including tables, indexes, and views to support business requirements.
• Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize queries to improve system efficiency.
• Ensure database security and integrity through access controls, encryption, and robust backup and recovery strategies.
• Perform routine maintenance like backups, restorations, and disaster recovery testing.
• Collaborate with developers, sysadmins, and stakeholders to troubleshoot and resolve database issues.
• Design and implement data models and schemas aligned with business needs.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive database documentation, including data dictionaries and diagrams.
