An innovative firm seeks a Database Admin/Engineer to manage SQL Server databases for an energy client. This hybrid role offers a chance to work both onsite and remotely, emphasizing collaboration and problem-solving skills. Apex is currently looking for a Database Admin/Engineer for an energy client that will work a hybrid schedule with 4 days onsite, 1 remote in Tulsa, OK. This role is a W2 contract that will be an open-ended with good chance of conversion for strong performance. Hours are Monday-Friday 8-5 local time and pay should range based on experience. Rate range is expected between $50-55 an hour depending on experience.

The Database Administrator III is responsible for the overall administration, design and support of SQL Server databases. This role will implement and maintain database management systems to ensure data integrity and security. Balance various tasks of moderate complexity requiring the application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria are keys to success!
• Installs, configures, upgrades, and maintains SQL Server database management software and related tools following recommend standards and security guidelines
• Implements database backup and recovery processes to guarantee data is protected and recoverable
• Performs performance and tuning of the overall database in addition to application specific queries
• Collaborates with infrastructure teams to identify and resolve resource bottlenecks and perform capacity planning
• Provides database administration support for Cloud databases and DBaaS support
• Supports the application development teams in the design and creation of database structures and objects, migrating changes through the project development life cycle and into the production environment
• Develops scripts and processes to perform data migration requests related to refreshing development and test environments from production
• Provides data exports to vendors for support as requested
• Monitors and remediates database related vulnerabilities, password standards, and security issues as guided by our security policies
• Other duties as assigned
Education/Years of Experience:
• Required: Hands-on experience administering a SQL Server database
• Preferred: Bachelors degree or technical certification with a minimum of three (3) years related experience
• Preferred: Technical competency in scripting (T-SQL and Powershell)
• Preferred: Knowledge of supporting SQL Server Availability Groups
