About Civica
Critical shortages of essential generic injectable drugs are an ongoing crisis in U.S. healthcare and have reached an all-time high. Over 300 essential medications are currently reported to be in shortage, according to industry and FDA reports.

Civica is a market-based nonprofit created in 2018 by health systems and philanthropies to prevent and mitigate drug shortages. Position Summary

Seeking an ETL developer to automate data ingestion and transformation for the company’s enterprise data warehouse (EDW). Location is in Lehi, UT and Petersburg, VA, but the role is remote.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Build data systems and pipelines: Design and document ETL requirements, primarily using SQL, to ensure data accuracy in the EDW. Experience with Python and JSON is advantageous.
2. Agile: Work in sprints to deliver solutions efficiently within a dynamic team environment.
3. EDW Management: Oversee EDW architecture, improve performance, establish data management standards, develop automated data quality systems, manage user permissions, and lead backup/recovery procedures.
4. Continuous Improvement: Enhance data infrastructure, promote best practices, and identify automation opportunities to scale and reduce costs.
5. Perform other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications

• At least 2 years of professional SQL experience and 1 year of ETL development.
• Strong SQL skills, including CTEs, stored procedures, queries, views, and functions.
• Problem-solving skills with minimal guidance.
• Attention to detail and data accuracy.
• Clear and concise documentation skills.
• Collaborative spirit with transparent communication.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field; healthcare or pharma domain experience is a plus. Experience with Snowflake, Python, JSON, and Bash is advantageous.
