Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking a Financial Crimes Data Analyst SME in Baltimore, MD, on a hybrid contract-to-hire basis. You will support risk assessments and executive-level reporting, translating business needs into actionable data solutions while ensuring data quality and Agile delivery efficiency.

You will leverage SQL and Excel to analyze risk data, draft requirements, and manage JIRA stories within a collaborative, fast-paced financial services environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Financial Crimes Data SME experience.
• 5+ years of experience as a Data Analyst in financial services or banking.
• Strong SQL skills with experience querying large datasets.
• Advanced Excel capabilities including pivot tables, vlookup, charts, and VBA.
• Experience gathering data requirements and supporting product owners.
• Knowledge of banking and securities products and market participants.
• Experience working in Agile delivery environments.
• Strong project management and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
• Ability to translate business needs into technical requirements.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist in defining and documenting data requirements with the Product Owner.
• Use SQL and Excel to analyze data for risk assessments and reporting.
• Conduct quality assurance reviews on sourced and processed data.
• Draft and manage JIRA stories, requirements, and sprint activities.
• Collaborate with technology teams and stakeholders to support risk assessment products and workflows.
