Job summary

Franklin Fitch is seeking a talented SQL-focused engineer to own the integration layer for hedge fund clients. You can choose a hands-on SME path or lead a small team as a manager, shaping the role to match your strengths.

You'll design end-to-end ETL/ELT pipelines, build data APIs (Databricks, Snowflake, REST) and collaborate with DBAs to optimise performance, with a bonus opportunity and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering with leadership experience.
• Advanced T-SQL skills and OLTP performance optimisation.
• Experience delivering data solutions across data warehouses/lakes and reporting.
• Authorization to work in the US without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end delivery of integrations from scoping to production support.
• Design and evolve ETL/ELT pipelines to load, normalise and version data across systems.
• Build data access APIs and platform endpoints (Databricks, Snowflake, REST).
• Set data quality standards with validation, audit trails and reconciliation.
• Collaborate with DBA on performance tuning of SQL Server objects.
• Build monitoring, runbooks and incident response.
• Mentor engineers and lead a small team when scoped to manager.
• Apply AI-enabled tools to speed up development and improve test coverage.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end technical delivery of integrations, from scoping and estimation through production support
• Design and evolve ETL/ELT pipelines to load, normalise and version data across middle office systems and the client portal
• Build data access APIs and platform endpoints (Databricks, Snowflake, REST) for clients to consume their data securely
• Set standards for data consistency, integrity and quality, including validation, audit trails and reconciliation
• Partner with the DBA team on performance tuning across SQL Server stored procedures, indexing and partitioning
• Build operational readiness with monitoring, alerting, runbooks and incident response
• Mentor engineers and, for the manager scope, lead a small team
• Use AI-enabled tools to speed up development and improve test coverage

Must-have requirements

• 7+ years of software engineering experience, including technical leadership, delivery leadership or people management
• Advanced T-SQL skills, with strong data modelling and performance optimisation experience on high-volume OLTP systems
• Experience building data solutions across data warehouses, data lakes and reporting systems
• Authorisation to work in the US without visa sponsorship, now or in the future
