Job summary

Object Oriented Search in Charlotte, NC is hiring a mid-level SQL DBA to join a rapidly growing high-tech team of about 100 employees. You will uphold Enterprise Query Standards, optimize queries, and support quarterly release cycles with application support and developers.

The role requires a Bachelor's in IT or related field and 2+ years of hands-on MS SQL Server administration. A strong analytical mindset and experience with T-SQL, PowerShell and query plan analysis are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related discipline.
• At least 2 years of hands-on experience administering MS SQL Server.
• Strong analytical judgment and problem-solving skills for addressing significant technical issues.
• Deep understanding and consistent application of Enterprise Query Standards.
• Advanced proficiency with T-SQL and PowerShell.
• Experience reviewing SQL queries using execution plans, DMVs, Profiler, or Extended Events.
• Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and tools is beneficial.
• Base salary 90-110K
• 10% Bonus

Responsibilities

• Follow and uphold all Enterprise Query Standards
• Collaborate with application support specialists and developers to implement data changes in line with established change-management processes
• Partner with the application support team to support quarterly release cycles
• Analyze, refine, and optimize queries flagged as potentially harmful to production, focusing on scalability, availability, and performance improvements
