Title: SQL DBA
Location: Coral Gables or Fort Lauderdale
Duration: 6+ Month Contract
Compensation: $45-52/hour
Work Requirements: US Citizen, GC Holders or Authorized to Work in the U.S.

SQL DBA

Description:

• Over 10 years of experience as a SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA)
• Strong expertise in installation, configuration, migration, and maintenance of MS-SQL Server databases
• Proven experience migrating on-premises SQL Server environments to Azure
• Skilled in refining and automating regular database processes, tracking issues, and documenting changes
• Deep understanding of industry-standard High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) technologies
• Experience in AlwaysOn and Distributed AlwaysOn Availability Groups
• Hands-on experience managing 15+ TB databases
• Implementation of table partitioning and Clustered Columnstore indexes
• Experience ensuring data security and compliance with industry standards
• Proficiency in Always Encrypted and Dynamic Data Masking
• Advanced skills in PowerShell scripting, with experience writing and maintaining complex scripts for database maintenance
• Strong knowledge of query optimization and server tuning for SQL Server
• Deep understanding of SQL Server internals, query optimizer behavior, and troubleshooting real-time production issues
• Experience supporting database object deployments in production and test environments
• Expertise in migrating SQL platforms to newer, industry-standard versions
• Ability to execute large-scale database migration projects independently
• Proficiency with SQL Server monitoring tools and best practices
• Experience providing 24x7 production on-call support on a rotational basis
• Experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF), SQL Server on Azure VM, Azure SQL Managed Instances, and Azure SQL Databases (preferred)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
