Job summary

Hobby Lobby Stores, Inc. is seeking a skilled SQL Server professional to manage and optimize our MS SQL databases across versions 2016, 2019 and 2022. The role emphasizes T-SQL, database design, and performance tuning in a fast-paced retail environment.

The ideal candidate will read and implement improvements from execution plans, manage indexing strategies, and work with .NET data access layers (ADO/EF). Strong knowledge of SSIS/SSRS and cloud offerings is a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2016, 2019 and 2022.
• Proficient in T-SQL and advanced features across 2019/2022.
• Database design and ER modeling expertise.
• Experience accessing SQL via .NET data providers (ADO, EF, etc.).
• Understanding of indexing and query tuning best practices.
• Ability to read Execution Plans and implement improvements.
• Understanding of SQL engine internals (log, buffer manager, caching).
• Familiarity with source control (Git/Vault/TFS).
• Familiarity with SQL Reporting and SSIS/SSRS.
• Knowledge of SQL Server administration, virtualization and performance considerations.
• Degree in MIS or computer science
