Job summary

Retirement Clearinghouse, LLC in Charlotte, NC is seeking a SQL Database Administrator (SQL DBA) to manage SQL Server environments, optimize performance, and support quarterly releases. The role requires 2+ years of SQL Server experience and strong T-SQL skills, with a hybrid schedule and in-office presence every Tuesday.

Ideal candidates have hands-on experience with Always On, DMVs, and performance tuning, plus excellent problem-solving and collaboration with developers and application

Qualifications

• 2+ years of Microsoft SQL Server experience.
• Strong SQL and T-SQL skills, able to write, analyze, troubleshoot, and optimize complex queries.
• Hands-on experience with SQL Server administration and performance tuning.
• Experience analyzing execution plans and using DMVs, SQL Server Profiler, Extended Events to diagnose issues.
• Hands-on experience with SQL Server Always On Availability Groups.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, able to identify root causes and propose solutions.
• Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, able to manage priorities.
• Ability to work independently and with a team, adapt to changing needs.

Responsibilities

• Solve real-world technical problems by responding to end-user requests, investigating data, and identifying root causes.
• Manage SQL Server environments: install, configure, and maintain databases.
• Optimize database performance by analyzing execution plans and DMVs to improve queries.
• Protect production performance by tuning queries and ensuring stability and availability.
• Collaborate with developers and application support to implement database changes per standards.
• Support quarterly releases by preparing for and executing deployments.
• Support SQL Server upgrades and feature evaluations prior to migrations.
• Maintain clear technical documentation: diagrams, procedures, data definitions, and reports.
