Job summary

EPRI seeks a Software Quality Assurance (SQA) Student Engineer to assist with testing software for usability and to document errors. This part-time role supports testing across Windows, Linux, iOS and Android platforms, with 20 hours per week.

Ideal candidates are current software engineering students with strong communication and problem-solving skills, who can work with project managers and developers in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Must be a current student pursuing a bachelor's degree in software engineering or related field.
• Strong initiative and ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Good knowledge of internet technologies and software security.
• Strong learning and troubleshooting aptitude.

Responsibilities

• Test EPRI software products on PC platforms (Windows and LINUX), Apple/Android mobile platforms.
• Utilize JIRA, Confluence, Azure DevOps (ADO); Microsoft Office 365; Microsoft Windows 10; Apple iOS and Android.
• Work and communicate with EPRI Project Managers and developers.
• Perform data entry into databases which could include: source code, bugs, etc.
• Maintain virtual testing machines.

Job Summary and Description

EPRI is looking for a Software Quality Assurance (SQA) Student Engineer to assist with testing software for usability and writing reports documenting errors. This position is part-time, 20 hours per week.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Test EPRI software products on PC platforms (Windows and LINUX), Apple/Android mobile platforms
• Utilize JIRA, Confluence, Azure DevOps (ADO); Microsoft Office 365; Microsoft Windows 10; Apple iOS and Android
• Work and communicate with EPRI Project Managers and developers
• Perform data entry into databases which could include: source code, bugs, etc.
• Maintain virtual testing machines

Education

Must be a current student pursuing a bachelor's degree in software engineering or a related field

Hourly Rate Range for Student Positions

• Undergraduate: $16-29 per hour
• Masters: $27-33 per hour
• Ph.D: $31-36 per hour

These ranges are an estimate, and the actual hourly rate may vary based on various factors, including without limitation applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The hourly rate may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.

Benefits

As an EPRI Student, you will not participate in EPRI’s Benefit Programs which includes health insurance, retirement benefits, vacation, sick leave (except as set required by law) and holiday pay. However, as a Student employee you are eligible for the benefits of Social Security, State Disability Insurance, and Workers’ Compensation Insurance.

Relocation

For Student positions which require one to relocate to an EPRI office. Relocation assistance is not provided and the student will be responsible for covering all relocation costs/expenses.
