Job summary

Mars is seeking a Supplier Quality Assurance Lead to ensure fit-for-purpose raw materials meet regional manufacturing needs and end-user expectations. You will lead QA/FS audits, drive continuous improvement, and partner with Commercial Buying, Operations, product, packaging, and commodity teams.

This role requires 2+ years in food manufacturing quality, a strong HACCP/audit background, and a BS in a related field. Travel up to 50% and MS Office proficiency are expected.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in food manufacturing quality with knowledge of food safety, HACCP, and auditing.
• Experience leading QFS Management System audits.
• Training and experience in continuous improvement and problem solving.
• Competencies in planning/project management, managing and measuring work, and data management in internal systems.
• Ability to travel 50% of the time.
• Strong understanding of supply chain within a manufacturing environment.
• BS degree in Chemistry, Food Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Ensure quality and consistency of raw materials, especially Vegetables & Grains category; mycotoxin management knowledge is preferred.
• Provide inputs to material risk assessments and drive supplier improvement plans.
• Collaborate with Commercial Buying/Operations Teams and Site-based Quality Services for supplier non-conformance investigations.
• Manage inbound supply risks including material security, quality, food/product safety and regulatory compliance.
• Perform supplier site audits and drive completion of corrective actions.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders in Commercial, R&D and Supply.
• Run supplier performance reviews and track supplier metrics.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and problem-solving across the network.
• Ensure product conformance to specifications and requirements.
