Job summary

Responsibilities

• Schedule staff, assign projects, ensure compliance, room setups, and shift logs.
• Assist budgeting with FTE counts, equipment and supply needs.
• Review daily cleaning logs for standards and regulatory adherence.
• Perform quality checks and track team progress.
• Train staff on cleaning protocols and safety procedures.
• Run annual competency assessments and document training.
• Maintain training records and audit docs.
• Monitor cleaning documentation for accuracy and timeliness.

This role manages staffing functions such as interviewing, hiring, training, coaching, and disciplinary actions while ensuring accurate completion of cleaning logs and annual competencies. The supervisor collaborates with other departments to coordinate terminal cleaning and develops team members to consistently achieve high-quality cleaning standards. Success in this position requires adaptability, strong operational decision-making, and participation in higher-level departmental planning.Essential Functions:• Scheduling, counseling staff, project assignment and compliance, roomset ups, ordering and distribution of supplies, interviewing, evaluatingand selecting applicants for open positions, time/attendance validation and shift logs.• Assists in budgeting process by providing proper FTE counts, capital equipment and supply needs, and recommending vendor services.• Validate and review daily cleaning logs to ensure compliance with organizational standards and regulatory requirements.• Conducts quality assurance inspections (visual and other), observations, cart inspections, and tracks team member progress.• Provide initial and ongoing staff training on cleaning protocols, safety procedures, and documentation requirements.• Perform annual competency assessments to evaluate staff knowledge, skills, and adherence to established procedures.• Maintain records of training and competency evaluations in accordance with policy and audit requirements.• Monitor cleaning documentation for accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.• Coordinate with the Pharmacy and Facilities departments to plan and execute scheduled and unscheduled terminal cleaning activities.• Responsible for ordering supplies and linen and maintaining acceptable inventory levels.• Counsels team members and enforces Moffitt policies through theprogressive disciplinary action process.• Corrects and coaches team members to help them be successful.• Create and update team member daily job assignments, quality and• training checklists, and assist with policy creation/revision.• Creates schedules, approves PTO, and maintains team member files• Assists in covering for other Supervisors if necessary and responsible for managing the department for short periods of time in the absence of the Director / Manager• Other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications:HS/GED and a minimum of nine (9) years of experience to include the following:• Five (5) years of experience in environmental services or housekeeping• Two (2) years of experience as a Supervisor, Lead or Project Lead• Customer service• Evidence of a good driving record(OR)AA/AS degree plus a minimum of seven (7) years' experience as stated aboveBA/BS degree plus a minimum of five (5) years' experience to include three (3) years of experience in environmental services or housekeeping AND two (2) years of experience as a Supervisor, Lead or Project Lead.\\* Years of experience requirements can be reduced by two (2) years in any category, with Moffitt related work experience\\*Preferred Qualifications:• Experience in a hospital setting is preferred.• In-depth knowledge of environmental services standard and regulatory requirements.• Computer skills: MS Office and ability to learn software specific to Moffitt.Education:• High School Diploma/GED Licensure / Certification:• Valid Florida Driver’s License• Must obtain T-CSCT within 6 months of hire• Must obtain T-CNACC within 6 months of hire**Salary Range***Salary ranges posted for this position represent the expected base pay range for the role.
