Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Plan and organize activities to utilize personnel and materials to meet short and long range goals per company policy and procedures.
  • Plan day-to-day departmental operations; develop and implement work methods, authorize overtime and control costs.
  • Act as liaison with other departments, notifying follow up personnel of material shortages or unavailability.
  • Ensure assigned areas operate efficiently and employees follow procedures and policies.
  • Contact carriers and suppliers to track materials and shipments.
  • Complete required paperwork (work orders, ASN, BOL, shipping orders) and maintain files, logs and lists.
  • Comply with ISO/TS 16949, EMS, H&S, Magna and OSHA policies; keep the facility clean and organized.
  • Examine shipment contents against records to verify accuracy of incoming/outgoing shipments.
  • Coordinate with Vendors; Production; Sales; and Customer Service to optimize on-time deliveries and customer satisfaction.
  • Be proactive to resolve issues before they impact operations.
  • Coordinate dock traffic; ensure trucks sign in and out of the facility.
  • Ensure OSHA requirements are met.
  • Assist in other tasks related to physical inventory.
  • Complete weekly dock area audit.
  • Complete RMA returns.
  • Complete inventory adjustments.
  • Receipt service, rental and non production/non MRO items.
  • Resolve problem invoices.
  • Coordinate Box Truck shipments between plant and warehouse and with vendors within 120 miles.
  • Fill in on fork truck when understaffed.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Plan and organize activities to best utilize personnel and materials to achieve short and long range goals in accordance with company policy & procedures
  • Plan day-to-day departmental operations; develop and implement work methods, authorize overtime & control costs
  • Act as liaison with other departments, notifying follow up personnel of any material that is not available or when inventory is low
  • Ensure assigned areas are operating in the most efficient manner and employees are following company procedure and policies
  • Contact carriers and suppliers to track materials and shipment
  • Complete report forms, ensure files, logs and lists are maintained and complete required paperwork (i.e. work orders, ASN, bills of lading (BOL), shipping orders, etc)
  • Comply with the designated ISO /TS 16949 responsibilities, EMS requirements, Health & Safety (H&S) rules and practices, Magna and OSHA policies, procedures and practices and ensures the facility is clean & organized
  • Examine contents of shipments and compare with records i.e. invoices or orders, to verify accuracy of incoming or outgoing shipment(s)
  • Communicate and coordinate with Vendors; Production; Sales; and Customer Service in an effort to achieve optimal performance as it relates to on-time deliveries; customer satisfaction; and safe, efficient handling of product
  • Be proactive and anticipate necessary steps to take to resolve issues before they negatively impact operations
  • Coordinate dock traffic, ensure that all trucks sign in & out of facility
  • Ensure all legislative requirements of OSHA are met.
  • Assist in other tasks as assigned by management of physical inventory
  • Complete weekly audit of dock area
  • Complete RMA returns
  • Complete inventory adjustments
  • Receipt service, rental and non production/non MRO items
  • Resolve problem invoices
