Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Fire Sprinkler Service Technician in Evansville, IN. You will receive calls, diagnose sprinkler/ suppression issues, and perform on-site service and repairs for commercial and industrial systems.

Responsibilities include interpreting blueprints and manuals, following troubleshooting procedures, and delivering strong customer service while working independently. Travel and weekend hours may be required.

Qualifications

  • NICET Level I certification is required
  • 3-5 years of documented experience in Fire Sprinkler service industry performing service and repair to Sprinkler and Suppression systems
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends to meet customer requirements
  • Overnight travel may be required
  • Must maintain truck inventory to ensure timely response to customer needs
  • Must adhere to safety guidelines and procedures at all times
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and driving record that meets company requirements
  • Follow verbal and written instructions
  • Capable of performing physical labor to include carrying and moving equipment and tools weighing up to 70 lbs
  • Able to work in unusual and difficult positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 60 feet
  • Must follow all safety requirements of the company and customer

  • Demonstrate strong customer service with organization and quick learning
  • Able to work independently and manage tasks with minimal supervision

What you will do

Receive service calls from Service Resource Center, including a brief description of equipment/system malfunctions. Contact customer representative and ascertain equipment/systems problems. Perform service and repairs on sprinkler systems for commercial, industrial and residential applications. These include but are not limited to wet (steel, copper and CPVC), dry, pre-action, deluge and fire pumps.

How you will do it

  • Follow prescribed troubleshooting procedures and refer to technical manuals, part manuals, change notices and bulletins, modification notices, etc. in order to diagnose and repair equipment.

  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications software/systems, programs, schematics and operational product manuals.

  • Demonstrate a high level of customer service, with strong organizational skills, positive attitude, and an ability to learn quickly.

  • Must have the ability to work alone.

  • Must be able to follow, read and understand all safety requirement of the company and the customer

  • Backflow certification is a plus

HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $25.00-$36.00 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
